Slows Bar BQ Kitchen Manager in Detroit, Michigan

Slows Bar BQ, the award-winning barbecue business based in Detroit is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Kitchen Manager to oversee the operations of its production kitchen. Strong candidates have experience managing large-scale production and leading a team of cooks to achieve daily goals while maintaining a clean and organized workspace.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain an effective and efficient kitchen team

  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures to ensure consistency in food quality, preparation, and presentation

  • Manage inventory and food costs to maintain profitability

  • Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations and standards

  • Monitor and maintain kitchen equipment and supplies to ensure functionality and cleanliness

  • Ensure accurate production following standardized recipes while minimizing any waste.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of relevant kitchen experience, including at least 1 year in a supervisory role

  • In-depth knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen equipment

  • Ability to effectively manage a team, including scheduling and performance management

  • Strong organizational and communication skills

  • Ability to handle high-stress situations in a fast-paced environment

  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and standards

  • A passion for providing exceptional culinary experiences to guests
