Henry Ford Health System Director Revenue Cycle Transition in Detroit, Michigan

The Director of Revenue Cycle Transition at Henry Ford Health plays a critical role in the successful integration of Ascension Health's revenue cycle operations into the newly formed Henry Ford Health and Ascension joint venture. Reporting directly to the Chief Revenue Officer, this position requires extensive collaboration with leadership from both Ascension and Henry Ford, as well as external vendors, to ensure a seamless transition.

This role encompasses oversight of both acute and ambulatory revenue cycle operations, with responsibilities including the development of a transition playbook, coordination of a steering committee, and governance structure, and the identification of synergies pre-Epic conversion. The Director will work closely with various teams to address operational gaps, support broader system integration efforts, and lead the planning, testing, and implementation of the Epic system conversion.

To be successful, the candidate must have a strong background in revenue cycle management, project management, and experience within a large integrated hospital system. This position is crucial for ensuring that the joint venture between Henry Ford Health and Ascension achieves its goal of delivering integrated, high-quality healthcare services across the region.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinates with various Ascension leaders, and Ascension outsource vendor leaders, to monitor performance and ensure performance meets or exceeds baseline levels.

  • Leads the development of a transition playbook and coordinates with Ascension leaders to execute on strategic priorities during the transition.

  • Identify and resolve revenue cycle operational gaps or barriers post Day 1.

  • Develop and deploy a revenue cycle transition steering committee and governance structure.

  • Lead the coordination between Ascension and Henry Ford leadership to identify and achieve synergies pre-Epic conversion.

  • Coordinate with Henry Ford and Ascension leaders to identify pre-Epic integration opportunities and create integration plan.

  • Works closely with Integration Management Office and other functions to support broader system integration efforts.

  • Coordinates with Henry Ford, Ascension, and external resources to lead Epic conversion planning, testing, and implementation.

  • Collaborate with subject matter specialists, functional leads, and other internal and external resources supporting the transition.

  • Works with leads from other functions that overlap with revenue cycle, such as Finance, Treasury, and IT, to ensure alignment and make key decisions.

  • Works with the Henry Ford revenue cycle leaders to provide updates on performance, identify risks, and obtain feedback to ensure alignment on strategic priorities, synergies, and Epic conversion planning.

  • Coordinates with Henry Ford and Ascension leaders to develop long term integration and resourcing plans

    EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, Management, Healthcare Services, Administration or other related field required, Master’s preferred.

  • Five years of revenue cycle experience in management and/or project management required.

  • Minimum three years working in a large integrated hospital system.
