A Day is the Life of Coordinator, Communication & Engagement:

This position is grant funded and will only be maintained as long as the funds are provided by an external source.

The coordinator is an integral part of the Detroit Promise team. They will be responsible for content creation and active updates of the Detroit Promise website, social media, and all external communications. They will create new content daily and/or work with other marketing and communications team members to acquire and create content that is current, engaging, accurate, and actively updated.

The coordinator will serve as the lead on all mass emails, which includes managing a planning calendar, building emails, and executing review and approval process, while keeping other team members up to date on status. They will also work closely with the chamber marketing team and firm to ensure necessary content is created and the appropriate parties are updated on progress.

Qualifications for a Coordinator:

The ideal candidate has a degree from a four-year college or university in marketing, communications, public relations, or related field. An internship or full-time position with a minimum of one to three years of relevant experience is required.

Candidate must be proactive and willing to think outside of the box.

Ability to work in a fast-paced, flexible, deadline-driven environment.

Effective oral and written communication skills with a diverse group of people are necessary.

Candidate must demonstrate strong interpersonal and customer service-related skills.

Ability to write creatively and effectively with good knowledge of AP grammar and style is required.
