Crain Communications Billing Operations Analyst in Detroit, Michigan

Description The Billing Operations Analyst is responsible for overall support and maintenance of the billing order management system. Will collaborate with IT, finance, sales, and other business operation teams to ensure that standard operating procedures are adhered to and look for ways to improve processes and system use. This position will be responsible for responding to internal customer requests, which will include analyzing, replicating, and resolving customer issues, and documenting results.

Responsibilities Configure and maintain all product information and rates in the billing order management system (Naviga). Support system users by researching and troubleshooting their concerns related to system operations and performance Collect data and functional requirements from the business and coordinate with IT and our vendor to resolve system issues and monitor enhancements Lead efforts on testing, preparing documentation and communicating any Naviga system modifications and upgrades Write customized queries and reports using the Informer reporting tool Create, update, and maintain business process documentation Train new employees on system standard reporting and processes Identify opportunities to streamline process and create efficiencies Develop and maintain working knowledge of Crain's full advertising product suite Understand revenue recognition and ensure all products are mapped to the correct revenue stream Assist the billing department in reviewing purchase orders and contracts prior to entering the sales order into Naviga and performing revenue validation. Prepare, maintain, and reconcile weekly sales bookings reports.

Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration or related field, or equivalent experience Experience in analyzing information, issues, situations, and procedures to develop effective solutions Experience using order entry and/or billing systems in a high-volume, fast paced environment Demonstrated ability to display excellent customer service to meet the needs and expectations for both internal and external customers Experience writing customized reports using some type of database query tool Demonstrated ability to interact in a positive, respectful manner and establish and maintaincooperative working relationships in a strong team environment Proficient with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and web-based software Ability to multi-task, problem solve, be detail oriented and meet deadlines Strong analytical and investigative skills

Preferences 2-4 years previous order entry/billing and/or accounting related experience Experience with SQL language for retrieving data from database Excel Superuser Experience in media or advertising industry Knowledge of Adbase, Naviga Ad or similar tool

This position is exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is eligible for overtime pay.

Pay Transparency Disclosure: The estimated salary range for this position is $50,000 - $65,000.

The final salary offering will take into accounta wide range of factors, including experience, accomplishments and location. The salary range provided should not be considered as a salary limit or cap. In addition to base salary, Crain also offers competitive benefits including retirement plan savings contributions and bonus opportunities based on individual and company performance.
