Site/Location: Detroit, MI Status - Regular Full Time This position is responsible for performing a variety of clerical/administrative support activities for the department. Generate and maintain confidential files and reports. * Types a various correspondence letters, memos, form worksheets, spreadsheets, listings, reports, logs and etc. * Assist in the preparation of material used for meetings and take meeting minutes. * Prepares cases including set-up/support e.g., obtaining various screen prints of the system (e.g., EDS, IMS, FEP, Pharmacy, Merck/MEDCO, etc.). Orders/requests UB 92 and/or 1500 claim forms, check vouchers, etc. * Files, including purging closed audit cases for record storage, dispose of obsolete confidential records, coordinate file retrieval/return from other departments as well as set up and maintain departmental files and records. * Updates manuals and maintains the appropriate libraries for the department. * In support of the departments, screens and routes telephone calls and correspondence perform copying, printing, faxing, ordering and maintenance of office supplies and other goods or services (Wise Buys). Schedule appointments, meetings and travel arrangements. * Maintains department reports. May be required to prepare, maintain and distribute quarterly and monthly reports and medical record payment requests. Also, may be required to input audit results. * Perform other related duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS * High school graduate or GED equivalent is required. * Two (2) years secretarial/support/computer experience. * Must meet the corporate typing requirement of 45 w.p.m. and be proficient in the use of PC and various associated software packages for word-processing spreadsheets and database applications (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, Access). * Possess organizational skills necessary to set up and maintain department files and assist staff. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills. * Ability to create shell letters, forms, charts and merge data. * Ability to deal effectively on the telephone with providers, (e.g., physicians, hospitals, clinics), lawyers and subscribers. * Be familiar with corporate organizational structure and functions. * Ability to lift up to 25 pounds. * Other related skills and/or abilities may be required to perform this job.
