Henry Ford Health System Athletic Trainer - 1.0 Variable Shift - Bloomfield Hills High School in Detroit, Michigan

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Bloomfield Hills High School is located in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. An MHSAA Class A school, BHHS competes in the Oakland Activities Association (OAA). BHHS Black Hawks field roughly 60 athletic teams across the freshman, junior varsity, and varsity levels: football, cross country, golf, volleyball, equestrian, pom, field hockey, soccer, tennis, basketball, bowling, ice hockey, skiing, figure skating, gymnastics, baseball, track & field, softball and lacrosse.

The AT will complete approximately 1800 hours of athletic training services at Bloomfield Hills High School. Additional hours outside of the school for Henry Ford Health may be assigned. The AT will effectively communicate with the other AT at Bloomfield Hills High School and the team physician to coordinate medical care for the Bloomfield Hills Athletics community.

Develops, implements, and maintains comprehensive health care programs for athletes and other patients. Under the direction of, on the prescription of or in collaboration with a physician, the practice of athletic training includes the treatment of an individual for risk management injury prevention, clinical evaluation and assessment, immediate care and treatment, and rehabilitation and reconditioning of injury or illness, or both. The Athletic Trainer is placed in various sites for provision of services including, but not limited to, high school/college/university, outreach programming, community events and engagements, and HFHS sites.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Completion of a CAATE approved athletic training education program or educational equivalent required.

  • Post-certification master's degree in athletic training or related field preferred.

  • At least two years of related and expansive work experience in all aspects of athletic training or a combination of education and experience preferred.

  • Ability to work independently and prioritize delivery of services as needed.

  • Adheres to community outreach or school policies, including but not limited to NCAA, NJCAA, and MHSAA while meeting expectations of community outreach programming.

    CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:

  • Board of Certification, Inc. certified as an Athletic Trainer (ATC) required.

  • Licensed as an Athletic Trainer (AT) through the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs required or obtained prior to date of hire.

  • Additional certifications and credentials obtained in health care (i.e. CSCS, PES, FMS, CKTP, EMT) preferred.
