Detroit Mountain Recreation Area - Job Description Job Title: Lift & Maintenance Tech & Facilities/Lawn Care & Lift Attendant Department: Maintenance Reports To: Maintenance Manager Status: Full Time Non-exempt WHO WE ARE Detroit Mountain Recreation Area is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization focused on providing exceptional outdoor recreation opportunities and access for our local and regional community. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty and responsibility satisfactorily. Lift & Maintenance Tech - Year Around Working under the guidance of the Maintenance Manager this position provides support to the Maintenance Manager as the onsite tech working on machinery and equipment as directed. Provides year around maintenance support to the facility as needs occur. Performs snow removal as well as trail clean up and maintenance. Learns grooming and provides back up support to groomers. Becomes familiar with the motor room and operations within the facility. Stay informed and current with respect to company policies, procedures, programs and offerings. Completely fill out all maintenance log books under the guidance of the Maintenance Manager as well as the Lift Ops Manager. Facilities & Lawn Care Year Around Removal and clean up of winter features and equipment during shoulder season. Mowing, weed removal, trimming, snow removal, planting and pest removal as needed. Trail clean up, maintenance of natural play area. Changing of air filters, and checking water softener in the main lodge as well as supported buildings. Painting, scrapping, sweeping, mopping, building and assisting in other areas for events or projects. Lift Attendant & Shift Leader Year around Provides back up support for Lift Operations when not working as primary Maintenance Tech. Greet every guest, assist and provide safe uphill transportation to all bikers, skiers and snowboarders. Perform snow maintenance on ramps and around the lift area. Support and help coordinate Lift Attendants when asked by Lift Supervisors. Monitors lines to make sure guests are out of the way of the lifts. Adhere to all safety policies. Other duties as assigned. Detroit Mountain Recreation Area - Performance Guidelines Handle all complaints in a professional and polite manner, keeping your personal feelings to yourself. Be on time, in uniform (with name tag) and ready for work before your shift starts, committing to a regular schedule and getting your area Event Ready for the day. Smoking, smokeless tobacco, and E Cigarettes are prohibited while on the clock. Foul language, inappropriate language, and drama with, or in front of coworkers and guests is not acceptable. Commit to a positive, coachable attitude, flexibility, and dependability.
