Description

We are currently seeking a contract Grant Accountant on behalf of a local client in Des Moines. The primary focus of this role will be to assist with month-end close and reconciliations. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to gain significant accounting experience and be a key part of our client's financial data and reporting integrity.

Responsibilities :

• Assist with month-end financial close processes and reconciliations.

• Prepare scheduled and ad hoc financial reports.

• Track and monitor grant resources and expenditures.

• Ensure compliance with grant regulations and stipulations.

• Execute standard accounting tasks: accounts payable/receivable, general ledger maintenance, and payroll.

• Assist with annual audit preparations.

• Conduct financial analysis and create periodic reports.

• Collaborate with team to improve financial processes and reporting.

  Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.

• Proven experience in accounting, preferably in grants and contracts.

• Solid understanding of GAAP and financial reporting.

• Experience with accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.

• Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.

• Ability to meet strict deadlines.

• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
