Position Summary

The Maintenance Engineering Technician position at the Des Moines, Iowa plant is a multi-craft position that requires a working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and electronic (PLC). This position provides emergency and routine maintenance support to the operations departments in an industrial/automated environment.

Hourly rate of pay is $42.40 / hour.

  • Eligible for additional $0.50 for Certified Welding Wage Progression

  • Eligible for medical, prescription, dental, & vision coverage on date of hire

Qualified candidates will be required to pass a written technical skill assessment and undergo a one-on-one technical interview.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities for the Maintenance Engineering Technician (MET) position may include the following:

  • Comply with all safety regulations

  • Preventative Maintenance (continuous improvement)

  • Troubleshooting Mechanical, Electronic, and Electrical Industrial Equipment

  • Perform Quick Repair for Trouble Calls from Operating Technicians

  • Perform Maintenance on Mechanical, Hydraulics, Pneumatic and Electrical Equipment

  • Troubleshooting Programmable Logic Controls (PLCs)

  • Perform Preventative Maintenance on equipment and systems

  • Use computer-based software to enter, track and analyze work activities and maintenance trends

  • Read and use blueprints, schematics, manuals, technical drawings, work orders, test results, machine error messages.

  • Test fixed machinery

  • Clean and lubricate parts

Candidates must have flexibility to work either an 8-hour or 12-hour shift on either a day or night shift. We cannot guarantee a specific shift.

8-Hour Shift Schedule:

Shift A Sunday – Thursday, 10 pm – 6 am

Shift B Monday – Friday, 6 am – 2 pm

Shift C Monday – Friday, 2 pm – 10 pm

12-Hour Shift Schedule

Day shift works from 6 A.M. to 6 P.M. Night shift works 6 P.M. to 6 A.M. Teammates must be able to work a shift schedule with 48 hours one week and 36 hours the next week. Shift pattern requires candidates to work every other weekend.

Minimum Qualifications

3+ years of industrial maintenance in multi-craft environment OR

3+ years high tech maintenance related military experience OR

Completed apprenticeship program & 2 year industrial maintenance experience OR

Associates Degree in Electronics, General Technology, Robotics, or related field and 2+ years industrial maintenance experience

Candidate must also possess general computer skills, PLC experience, & presentation skills
