Corteva Agriscience is looking for an innovative, energetic, and transformational IT Business Solutions Area Leader . This person is responsible for setting and realizing the vision for IT solutions for their aligned set of areas (business units, regions, functions) to achieve expected business outcome. They enable end-to-end business value realization through a clearly defined suite of product families that balances business alignment and common technology patterns. They lead a team of Architects, Business Relationship Managers, IT Product Owners and several other key roles to define and operationalize Corteva’s overall strategy for solutions that achieve transformational business outcomes. This role serves on the appropriate regional or global business leadership team representing IT and serves as the bi-directional liaison to the business for all Information Technology related matters.

This individual should be comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative, highly matrix environment, developing a strategy for the organization and a roadmap to achieve strategic goals.

The IT Business Solutions Area leader will lead Global Customer Solutions and Seed solutions and partner with our Seed business unit and the Global Customer Solutions team. This role is a combination of a product line leader and business relationship leader working in one of our larger teams.

Primary Skills and Behaviors

  • Business IQ: broad knowledge and understanding of the Product Family business domain and IT implications; growing knowledge of the business capabilities and outcomes for their product family.

  • Technical IQ: cloud computing principles with specialization on the Azure technology stack; broad knowledge of solution architecture items such as application, data, integration, etc.; growing knowledge of the technologies and services for their product family.

  • Domain IQ: knowledge of Enterprise Architecture principles, processes, and frameworks; software development lifecycle (SDLC); security and compliance principles and standards.

  • Strategic partnering: building credibility, leading by influence and partnerships across the organization.

  • Communications: excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.

Primary Responsibilities - How will you help us Grow?

  • Setting and realizing the vision for IT solutions for their aligned set of business units.

  • Serve as the accountable liaison to the business for all technology-related matters.

  • Partner with business leaders on IT’s business strategic roadmaps and target state definitions.

  • Understand the processes, plans, objectives, drivers, and issues related to the business area together with appropriate external policies and regulations.

  • Ensure strategic roadmaps are in place for information technology systems that align to business-capability enablement or improvement.

  • Proactively advise on technology options and innovation for the business area function.

  • Oversee business case development and support defining the realization of business value.

  • Ensure that products, solutions and services deliver expected business value.

  • Expand adoption of existing technology, where appropriate, to leverage enterprise solutions that meet or exceed business-partner demands; Implement new where existing technology may not meet the need.

  • Provides leadership to all product family teams on strategies and solutions to business problems by translating strategic direction into clear product objectives and roadmaps.

  • Communicates product line strategies and direction in a compelling manner to business and IT stakeholders.

  • Mentors and coaches, the team and creates an environment in which team members thrive.

  • Manages and improves technical product owner processes by championing process improvement initiatives.

  • Works with business and IT leaders to determine investment portfolio for each product family and product therein to allocate toward total product lifecycle.

  • Seeks, embraces, and maintains strategic partnerships with major product vendors and suppliers.

  • Develops and maintains close relationship with associated functions within Corteva IT, including Infrastructure and Operations, Enterprise Architecture, ERP and Information Security.

  • Creates a culture that embraces industry best practices and innovation through collaboration with all internal and external stakeholders.

What expertise have you grown - What do you bring to the table?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Business Administration, Engineering is preferred, or equivalent work experience.

  • 15 total years Information Technology (IT) industry experience.

  • 8 years of leadership/management experience.

  • CRM Leadership experience preferably with Salesforce CRM.

Skills

  • Strong Salesforce CRM or other related CRM technical background and experience. In addition to having exceptional expertise leading large CRM teams.

  • Strong Interpersonal Skills. Ability to build strong partnerships across the organization.

  • Ability/Experience in leading large programs.

  • Ability to define vision/strategy and also be comfortable running end to end from strategy to support.

  • Strong Product Management experience.

  • Business Relationship skills - Comfortable communicating with high level senior leadership within Corteva's multiple business areas.

  • Monitors IT Products and Services: Regularly review metrics and health dashboards to assess availability and productivity of the products in their portfolio; proactively identifies services and service levels to manage business-partner expectations.

  • Business IQ: growing knowledge and understanding of their business partners and how they fit within Corteva overall; Participate in industry peer groups to understand industry trends.

  • Technology IQ: growing knowledge and understanding of leading and emerging technologies related to their business partners and associated technology product families; Participate in industry peer groups to understand industry trends.

  • Powerful communications: conveying intention for mutual understanding of risk and reward.

  • Stays Curious: Deep understanding of Corteva strategic/operational challenges and determines how to meet current and emerging business needs.
