Deloitte Confidentiality & Privacy Manager in Des Moines, Iowa

Confidentiality & Privacy (C&P) is seeking an experienced Privacy Manager passion for identifying and mitigating privacy risks, and experience with operationalizing privacy strategic priorities across a large organization.

This role will primarily support the operational processes of the Privacy Program, as well as key strategic priorities of C&P. We need a strong contributor who will drive the execution of multiple projects, while partnering with multiple business functions as well as legal and compliance teams to ensure adherence to privacy policies and privacy legal requirements. Key responsibilities of this position include privacy operations support, privacy compliance activities, evaluating and recommending process improvements and technology solutions, privacy consultations, and performing privacy risk assessments. The successful candidate will be expected to quickly build subject matter expertise in the US Firms' Privacy Program while providing impactful contributions to privacy risk management. He or she will be expected to participate and manage privacy initiatives designed to safeguard personally identifiable information (PII) and protect Deloitte's brand and reputation. The candidate should be a privacy professional passionate about ensuring the Firm's privacy risks are addressed and in compliance with internal and external obligations.

Work you'll do

  • Develop in-depth understanding of the US Firms' businesses and enabling areas to provide accurate consultation on privacy inquiries.

  • Work cross functionally with business teams to perform and lead business process privacy risk assessments, address privacy requirements, and assist with remediation efforts

  • Support M&A transactions, including post-close integration efforts

  • Support and lead internal and external compliance inquiries

  • Provide guidance on privacy risks and support business lines through consultation

  • Advise business areas on the application of privacy requirements and assist in operationalizing those requirements

  • Actively participate in complex projects as presented

  • Develop in-depth knowledge of privacy assessment technology and tools

  • Maintain proactive communications with business and enabling area key stake holders.

  • Develop/update/review artifacts to support the privacy program (e.g., playbooks, policies, procedures, templates, guidelines and tools).

  • Support awareness activities of emerging privacy trends and risks with business and enabling area leadership.

    The successful candidate will possess:

  • Proficiency in in Microsoft Office applications (PowerPoint, Excel)

  • Highly organized, self-starter, experienced working independently that can anticipate team needs and deliver per deadlines.

  • Aptitude in technology with ability to identify and execute various solutions to meet business requirements.

  • Confidence in working across teams with strong facilitation skills to lead complicated discussions with many participants.

  • Critical thinker with strong analytical skills.

  • Ability to work with professionals in different time zones, including India.

    US Confidentiality & Privacy Strategic Priorities and Team US Confidentiality & Privacy serves as a trusted advisor to the US Firms Businesses and Enabling Areas, providing guidance and consultation regarding confidentiality and privacy requirements and leading practices to support client service and internal operations in mitigating risk, responding to incidents, and implementing solutions. C&P's strategic priorities include:

  • Advising and consulting on confidentiality and privacy risks

  • Monitoring and facilitating compliance with regulatory and legal obligations

  • Helping to secure Confidential Information and preventing data loss

  • Assisting in the response and management of confidentiality and privacy incidents and insider violations

    The team is highly collaborative, and individual contributions are measured relative to team contributions. C&P is organized around key service areas, which include:

    Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • 5+ years of relevant Data Privacy, Privacy Compliance, Privacy Regulations, Risk Assessment experience

  • Experience knowledge of US and international privacy laws

  • Experience operationalizing privacy regulatory requirements

  • Strong project management skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize across various initiatives and activities.

  • Limited immigration sponsorship may be available

  • Ability to travel 0-10%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve

    Preferred:

  • Certified International Privacy Professional (CIPP/US, CIPM, CIPT) certification

  • Strong working knowledge of the OneTrust platform modules

  • Experience in professional services, risk management, client service, or consulting services

  • Experience summarizing results and producing management reports and deliverables

  • Experience producing and delivering appropriate communications to leadership

  • Experience in complex project delivery or quality management

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $88,600to $181,900.

You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
