Job Description

Your Responsibilities:

  • Lead efforts addressing chronic absenteeism/improving student attendance and positive behavior supports.

  • Provide leadership, coordination, and project management of all birth-21 academic-related work delivered through a multi-tiered system of support (MTSS) for 21st Century Skills in the Bureau of Learner Strategies and Supports. This includes connecting the MTSS work with the statewide service delivery system between the Department of Education, area education agencies, outside partners and local education agencies when necessary.

  • Serve as the Department lead to support therapeutic classrooms. This work includes managing the therapeutic classroom grant, providing guidance to schools, assessing implementation, and reporting on outcomes.

Hours: 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Monday – Friday; occasional in-state and out-of-state travel

571 Response to Intervention Experience

Applicant should demonstrate a minimum of 6 months’ experience, 12 semester hours, or a combination of both in the area of developing and implementing a Response to Intervention framework intended to provide appropriate interventions to school-aged children related to learning difficulties

Minimum Qualification Requirements

Applicants must meet at least one of the following minimum requirements to qualify for positions in this job classification:

1) Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university, and experience equal to five years of full-time, professional-level work in program administration, development, management, or operations.

2) A combination of a total of nine years of education and full-time experience (as described in number one), where thirty semester hours of accredited college or university course work may substitute for one year of full-time experience.

3) Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Master's degree in social work, law, education, engineering, or public or business administration, and experience equal to three years of full-time, professional-level work in program administration, development, management, or operations.

4) Current, continuous experience in the state executive branch that includes two years of full-time work as an Education Program Consultant.
