Strategic Sales Consultant- Colorado

Location: This position will work a hybrid model (remote and office). The ideal candidate must live within 50 miles of one of our Elevance Health PulsePoint locations listed on the requisition.

The Strategic Sales Consultant is responsible for new business acquisition, based on business size and scope and provides a consultative sales approach to Individual, Small and/or Large Groups, which is in line with client and company objectives

How you will make an impact:

  • Achieves new business target for all lines of business through advanced execution of sales process.

  • Cultivates deep trust-based relationships and develops comprehensive understandings of client needs and priorities.

  • Acts as a consultative collaborative partner with brokers, consultants, and key decision makers.

  • Develops and implements strategic business plans to address broker/client needs.

  • Conducts broker, agency, client education on pertinent topics and anticipates potential client needs related to these topics.

  • Coordinates with internal partners to meet and exceed client expectations, driving opportunities for additional growth and product sales.

  • Ability to learn and have a solid understanding of the industry and products at the local, state, and federal level; continuously updates knowledge in a rapidly changing environment.

  • With limited supervision and guidance, provides a consultative sales approach to Large Groups, which is in line with client and company objectives.

Minimum Requirements:

Requires a BA/BS and a minimum of 4 years of sales experience; or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background. Sales license is required to be obtained and appointed within sixty (60) days of hire.

Preferred Skills, Capabilities, and Experiences:

  • Experience in the local Colorado market with established relationships with consultants and brokers is highly preferred.

  • Proficient in the competitive landscape of the Colorado large group market, e.g. competitor products and strategies is strongly preferred.

  • Experience with office tools, cloud-based software, social media & collaboration tools strongly preferred.

  • Experience working in the managed care/healthcare insurance industry most notably in Large Group strongly preferred.

  • Experience in analytics, underwriting, stop loss contracts, RFPs, and level funding is strongly preferred.

  • Exceptional strategic thinking, decision-making, problem-solving skills, and adaptability highly preferred.

  • Experience interacting confidently with senior management and executive level stakeholders, as a subject matter expert and comfortable with influencing decision-making preferred.

  • Excellent written, oral, presentation and interpersonal communication skills with the proven ability to negotiate expectations between multiple parties strongly preferred.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products, MS Teams and Salesforce highly preferred.

For candidates working in person or remotely in the below locations, the salary* range for this specific position is $75,328 to $112,992
