Actalent Sr. Engineer - Solar & BESS in Denver, Colorado

Sr. Solar-BESS Engineer

Description:

  • We are currently seeking an experienced utility-scale PV Solar & BESS Engineer with 6+ years of experience

  • We are looking for someone who has functioned as the lead design engineer for utility-scale PV solar projects (20MW and larger)

  • Has experience leading the development of electrical design packages for utility-scale Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) projects (20MW and larger)

  • Has served as QA/QC on medium voltage collection system design projects and mentors junior engineers

  • Has a strong understanding of inverter-based technologies commonly applied for these project types

  • Has developed collection design including single line diagrams, collection system layouts, communication diagrams, power cable sizing and cable schedules, wiring diagrams, and ensures compliance with applicable fire, electrical, and building codes

  • Has effectively communicated with all stakeholders, and has actively participated in project plan meetings

  • Based in Lakewood, CO

Hard Skills:

  • Utility-scale PV Solar project design

Qualifications:

  • Professional Engineer (PE)

  • Bachelors in Electrical Engineering or related field

  • 6+ years of experience with utility scale PV solar and BESS

  • Electrical equipment including: MV and LV switchgear, pad mount transformer, panel boards, breakers, protective relays, inverter, UPS Systems, battery systems

  • Short circuit and reactive capability analysis (ETAP or SKM)

  • Arc flash analysis (ETAP or SKM)

  • AC and DC voltage drop calculations

  • The team operates out of a smaller office of 13 in Lakewood
