RES Solar Field Engineer Manager in Denver, Colorado

Summary:

The Field Engineer Culture Manager will support field engineers by creating an engaged, inclusive and rewarding work culture. Facilitating an environment for feedback and career development. This role will help field engineers work with sites to aid the construction teams in maximizing efficiency and profits.

Requirements:

  • Manages and conducts organizational onboarding for new Field Engineers (FE) and Field Engineer Interns.

  • Collaborates with People and Culture Career and Talent Development, Safety Training and to ensure onboarding and ongoing trainings, professional development are being completed.

  • Cultivates a positive and productive work environment within team/organization.

  • Upholds company culture and instills RES vision and PACE values and the WAY WE WORK.

  • Ensures core values, guiding principles and behavioral expectations are communicated and reinforced.

  • Promotes Field Engineer satisfaction, motivation, and engagement within the company.

  • Organizes team building events, recognition programs and employee feedback initiatives.

  • Creates agendas and leads project field engineer meetings to ensure proper feedback and improvements can be made to benefit site teams and the organization.

  • Schedules and conducts regular 1:1 meetings with individual FEs.

  • Promotes transparency and open dialogues.

  • Manages the impacts of organizational change, ensuring that cultural aspects are considered during times of transition or growth.

  • Creates and implements Field Engineer evaluation matrix to track progress and areas of improvement with transparency to managers.

  • Collaborates with site level and management to make sure tasks are achievable and doable within the established timeframes and being completed accurately and on-time.

  • Serves as a resource for Field Engineers.

  • Monitors FE employee performance and determines if additional training or escalation is necessary.

  • Ensures FEs are up-to-date and in compliance with all Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental training.

  • Monitors FE training and performance milestones to ensure timely completion and to identify barriers/roadblocks.

  • Develops/manages a professional learning community specific to FEs and their professional development by initiating monthly LED talks.

  • Acts as an advocate and resource for the FEs and Interns.

  • Operates company vehicles in accordance with state and federal laws and RES policies.

  • Travels to sites as needed to ensure successful implementation of the Field Engineer duties.

  • Attends work regularly and punctually, as scheduled or expected.

  • Complies with Employee Handbook, Code of Conduct, and Company Policies & Procedures.

  • Presents, supports, and leads-by-example with a safety and quality-oriented attitude.

  • Guides and mentors less experienced staff on best industry practices.

  • Engages in continuous improvement opportunities and evaluates/implements ways to improve communication to improve employee retention.

  • Develops and implements improvement programs that result in improving field engineers’ ability to success.

  • Reports status updates regularly to construction teams and other relevant internal stakeholders.

  • Ensures growth and development with RES and its core values.

  • Training/expectations in field roles and software skills to help maximize abilities.

  • Encourage growth and experience to Field Engineers through training/courses.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, business, engineering or equivalent degree or military/education/relevant work experience is required.

  • 3+ years of experience in a leadership or culture manager or 3+ years of experience field construction experience site experience with involvement as an engineer required.

  • 3+ years of experience in solar, wind, T&D or BESS design or construction required.

  • Valid driver’s license required.

  • Ability to travel 31-50% of the time.

  • Demonstrates clear and concise technical writing proficiency.

  • Effectively communicates internal issues to reporting managers and teams, presenting viable solutions.

  • Exhibits robust interpersonal abilities.

  • Displays strong organizational and prioritization skills.

  • Demonstrates adept problem-solving, decision-making, and analytical capabilities, even in situations of uncertainty and tight timeframes.

  • Proficiently manages projects from inception to completion.

  • Possesses strong time management, planning, and organizational competencies.

  • Communicates effectively through both written and verbal channels, fostering strong relationships with team members and colleagues.

  • Proficient in advanced Microsoft Office Suite applications (Outlook, Word, Excel including pivot tables, and PowerPoint).

  • Skilled in multitasking and prioritizing project workload and category portfolio for the fiscal year.

  • Familiarity with construction industry concepts, practices, and procedures, with a preference for knowledge of the renewable industry.

  • Holds field experience in subcontract and purchase order management and tracking on project sites.

Anticipated Base Salary Range: $96,000 - $120,000

The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. This position is bonus eligible.
