Dorsey & Whitney Senior IP Docket/Project Specialist in Denver, Colorado

We are seeking a Senior IP Docket/Project Specialist for our Minneapolis, Denver, or Salt Lake City office. In this role, you will oversee the patent annuity/maintenance process and support the docket team across multiple offices with docket requests, client onboarding/offboarding efforts, quality control measures and data integrity related projects. You will also assist the IP Practice Manager with various practice group initiatives. Are you a self-starter with a passion for IP? In this role, you will:

Conduct daily PAIR review to ensure all correspondence are processed in a timely manner. Oversee the annuity/maintenance fee procedures working with vendor and client teams. Participate in providing key support in training and quality control monitoring. Lead role in IP docketing system updates for client onboarding and offboarding. Support IP Practice Manager and IP Docketing Supervisor on special docket and IP practice management procedures, projects and initiatives. Maintain a thorough working knowledge of the IP docketing management report functionality to create customized reports and generate general docket reports for attorneys and client requests. Maintain accurate docket records and related information via IP docketing management system. Prepare and schedule periodic docket reports and portfolio reports according to office procedures. Analyze new docket number requests and create new record in IP docketing management system. Handle various IP docketing management system updates for client information including foreign agents, applicant, owner, assignment data and inventors. This includes utilizing the bulk-updating feature when appropriate. Ability to interface with US Patent and Trademark Office, WIPO, and other websites regarding patent and trademark matters. Provide overflow patent and trademark docketing support to other docket team members. Assist members of the IP teams with other tasks as needed. May perform other duties not listed above.

What we're looking for:

High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalent. Extensive knowledge of patent and trademark prosecution as well as a full understanding of IP terminology, rules, and regulations in both US and international patent and trademark markets. Expert ability to organize information using various manual and computer formats. Expert knowledge of, and exposure to, docketing databases; Foundation IP is preferred. Expert ability to interface with U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, WIPO, and other websites regarding patent and trademark matters. Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage a large volume of action items in a timely manner. Strong communication skills, including following oral and written instructions, and the ability to work effectively with firm personnel and clients. Expert ability to prepare accurate, highly detailed work; excellent proofreading skills. Strong computer skills including basic word processing and data entry. Expert ability to organize information using various manual and computer formats. Ability to work independently with little supervision. Ability to work overtime if needed.

Preferred:

At least 10 years of intellectual property docketing experience in a law firm environment.

The pay range for this position in Colorado only is $38.50 to $47.00 per hour.

This range represents Dorsey s good faith estimate of likely compensation at the time of posting. Actual pay will be dependent upon a number of factors,
