The following positions within Inpatient Adolescent Psychiatry, Inpatient Adult Psychiatry, Psychiatric Emergency Services, CARES, and Outpatient Behavioral Health Services are offering the opportunity to enroll in a new program offering a cash incentive to recognize your work treating patients with substance use disorders. This program is sponsored through the ACCESS (Advancing Careers, Competencies, and Equity in Substance Treatment Services) grant. Employees must be >0.6 FTE to be eligible. 50% of the bonus will be received 90 days after signing the program contract.

  • Registered Nurses (RNs) may earn up to $7,500 by December 2024
  • Behavioral Health Technicians (BHTs) may earn up to $3,500 by December 2024
  • Care Navigators may earn up to $3,500 by December 2024

Job Summary The opioid addiction crisis in the United States is one of the most significant public health emergencies in this generation. The Outpatient Behavioral Health Service (OBHS) serves as the Hub for the Center of Addiction Medicine Hub and Spoke Model. OBHS is dedicated to supporting opioid addiction eradication and provides a full range of services including Medication Assisted Therapy (MAT), Women and Family Services, Behavioral Health, Addiction Treatment and mobile addiction medicine services.

As a Registered Nurse you will work along aside a multidisciplinary team made up of Addiction Medicine Providers, Psychiatrists, LCSW's, Addictions Counselors, Nurses, Care Navigators, and dedicated peers who all strive to provide the highest quality of care to our clients. The nurse's primary role is to provide education, coordination, and medication administration. OBHS offers a variety of settings for the RN to support including, triage, medication management, mobile opioid treatment, and leadership opportunities. All OBHS RN's receive training in trauma-informed care, motivational interviewing and addiction medicine.

If you are hired on as a Registered Nurse (RN) at >0.6 FTE to Inpatient Adolescent Psychiatry, Inpatient Adult Psychiatry, Psychiatric Emergency Services, CARES, or Outpatient Behavioral Health Services, you will be eligible for a new program which offers a cash bonus to recognize your work treating patients with substance use disorders.Nurses may earn up to $7,500 by December 2024 with 50% of the bonus received 90 days after signing the program contract.

Essential Functions: Assess the needs of individuals, families and/or communities to identify potential health or safety problems (15%) Maintain accurate, detailed reports and records (10%) Monitor, record and report symptoms and changes in patient's condition and vital signs (10%) Modify patient treatment plans as indicated by patient's responses and conditions (10%) Develop and modify patient care plans as indicated by patient's responses and conditions (10%) Prepare patients for, and assist with examinations and treatments (10%) Consult and coordinate with health care team members to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care (5%) Monitor all aspects of patient care, including diet and physical activity (5%) Direct and supervise less skilled nursing/health care personnel (5%) Instruct individuals and families on health education and disease prevention and after care (5%) Administer nursing care to ill, injured, convalescent or disabled patients (5%) Medication administration, documentation and reassessment (5%) Promote positive patient experience (5%)

Education: Associate's Degree required.

Work Exp rience: 1-3 years experience in a direct patient care setting required.

Licenses: BLS-Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) - AHA - American Heart Association required and, RN-Registered Nurse - DORA - Department of Regulatory Agencies required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Adherence to Standards of Professional Nursing Practice/ Process / Performance [ANA Standards addendum- signed] and accrediting body standards. Ensures all duties, responsibilities and competencies are conducted in a manner that is effective and appropriate to patients/clients to who care/service is being provided.
