APTIM Proposal Specialist in Denver, Colorado

APTIM is searching for a Proposal Specialist to work in our Denver, CO office, who has a good understanding of the federal proposal process with a basic understanding of state and local proposals as well.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

  • Lead task order or standalone opportunities of various sizes with a primary focus on federal proposals

  • Support Proposal Managers with large ID/IQ efforts as volume lead or writer

  • Take end-to-end ownership of proposal development and related support processes, including:

  • Developing and maintaining proposal management tools such as compliance matrices, schedules, outlines, storyboards, win themes, and action items

  • Conceptualizing and developing strategic win themes and discriminators

  • Leading a team of writers, graphic artists, schedulers, estimators, procurement, contracts, and other key proposal staff from kickoff through proposal delivery

  • Writing and editing proposal/marketing narrative

  • Leveraging existing archived proposal information

  • Interviewing technical and program staff to extract critical information

  • Tracking all solicitation amendments and modifications

  • Performing quality and compliance checks of all proposal sections and volumes

  • Participating in the development of oral presentation slide concepts and scripting, as needed

  • Closely interacting with capture managers, program and project managers, strategic business unit leaders, and technical professionals

Basic Qualifications:

  • Critical skills include time management, communication, and teamwork

  • Strong organizational skills and follow-through

  • Strong attention to detail, and proofreading skills

  • Ability to interact with individuals at all levels of the organization

  • Ability to motivate along with a "do-whatever-it-takes" attitude

  • Ability to manage situations involving high stress and deadline pressure

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, communications, engineering or related discipline, or equivalent

  • 3+ years of federal proposal experience in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, high-volume proposal environment is preferred

  • Some large (>$10M) federal proposal experience is required

  • DoD proposal experience is preferred

  • Ability to balance and prioritize multiple completing deadlines

  • Ability to conceptualize and write compelling, marketing-oriented proposal narrative, as required

  • Expert knowledge of MS Office Suite is required

  • Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud Suite is preferred

  • Excellent command of English grammar and punctuation is required

  • Proven ability to work remote with little to no supervision is preferred

  • Although not extensive, some travel and evening and weekend work may be required

Additional Desirable Qualifications:

  • APMP certification is preferred

  • Regular, reliable attendance
