Skiptown Pet Care Manager in Denver, Colorado

Pet Care Manager - Needed to manage a team in an ever-changing environment

We are looking for an experienced manager to lead the Pet Care team at Skiptown.

A successful pet care manager at Skiptown is someone who loves making an impact and adds value always, while ensuring that our dogs receive the highest standard of care (you'll know by the tail wags!) You'll be working closely with our pet care team and you love proactively fixing problems and finding solutions. You thrive in an environment where uncertainty is the norm. Ultimately, you have a passion for pups and you're great at organizing and managing our team of Skippers.

What you'll do:

  • Manage our well-trained Pet Care Team to provide quality care for the dogs at Skiptown

  • Provide onsite team members support and help solve problems

  • Ensure pet care processes are followed and executed well

  • Create more efficient processes to support pet services and help us learn and grow

  • Identify operational issues and opportunities for improvement

  • Ensure compliance with petcare laws and regulations

  • Ensure efficient and effective use of pet care staff resources

  • Resolve escalated issues and serve as first point of contact for urgent situations

  • Make emergency veterinary decisions

  • Track key pet services metrics to hit our targets

Why is working at Skiptown so great?!

  • Our Skiptown culture is fun and friendly. We may not be Olive Garden, but it is true that when you're here, you're family.

  • We never compromise safety - for you or the pups. All daycare dogs are required to complete a compatibility session to determine which of the 12 play groups they are best fit for based on their age, size, and play style. This not only sets up our doggos for success in having fun while they're with us, but makes it a better experience when you're caring for them, as well!

  • It's never a boring day at Skiptown! Maybe this is a given, but when you're hanging out with dogs every day, there is certainly never a dull moment and each one is filled with adventures and fun.

  • A modern approach to pet care! We provide a comprehensive app that gives you all the info you need in the palm of your hand including playgroup info, pet personalities, and facility & boarding schedules to make it easier for you to care for our pups well.

Skiptown Perks:

  • Free Skiptown membership to the bar & park for your eligible dog(s)

  • 30% off Skiptown services

  • Employer contribution for Medical, Dental and Vision benefits for full time employees (Vision is free - because we want you to see all those cute puppy faces!)

  • FREE DoorDash DashPass Work Perks… get your Dunkin' fix without having to work for it

  • $400 incentive (paid out over the first 6 months of employment)

  • Purple swag. Lots of purple. We're serious. You should really like purple.

  • $60,000 - $70,000 compensation range

Here's what you need:

  • At least 2 years of experience working in a daycare and boarding facility with at least 1 year of supervisory/management experience

  • Experience in herding cats (leading a group of people)

  • Must be reliable and punctual because these pups won't wait all day!

  • You put your laundry in the hamper and not in “that chair in the corner” (you're organized!)

  • You've put together a piece of IKEA furniture right the first time (you're thorough and detail-oriented!)

  • Availability to work some major holidays

Physical Demands:

  • Capable of physical movements requiring the use of legs, wrists, hands and/or fingers including kneeling and bending.

  • Repetitive arm and wrist use. Frequent grasping.

  • Ability to work in an outside environment, sometimes in adverse weather conditions such as extreme heat, extreme cold, rain, or snow.

  • Ability to pull up to 140 lbs.

  • Ability to be on your feet and/or walking up to eight (8) hours per day for at least four (4) hours at a time frequently on uneven or hilly walking surface.

  • Ability to lift up to forty (40) pounds.
