Process Payroll: Accurately process payroll on a weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly basis, ensuring all employees are paid on time. Data Entry: Enter and update employee information, including hours worked, wages, tax withholdings, and deductions in the payroll system. Verify Timesheets: Review and verify timesheets and attendance records for accuracy before processing payroll. Deductions and Benefits: Calculate and process deductions, including taxes, benefits, and garnishments. Compliance: Ensure payroll procedures comply with federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Reporting: Prepare and distribute payroll reports to management, including summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, and leave balances. Issue Checks/Direct Deposits: Prepare and distribute physical paychecks or process direct deposit transactions. Resolve Discrepancies: Investigate and resolve any payroll discrepancies or issues reported by employees. Maintain Records: Maintain accurate payroll records and employee files, ensuring confidentiality and security of information. Respond to Inquiries: Address employee questions and concerns regarding payroll, taxes, and benefits in a timely manner. Year-End Processes: Assist in preparing and distributing W-2 forms, 1099s, and other year-end payroll documentation. Stay Updated: Keep up-to-date with changes in payroll laws and regulations.
