Family Law Paralegal

Robert Half has partnered with an established, mid-size law firm in Downtown Denver on the search for a 5+ years’ Family Law Paralegal to join their growing team. Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Reading, reviewing and drafting sworn financial statements

• Reviewing financial documents

• Drafting/proofreading pleadings (Motions, Notices, Orders, Stipulations, Subpoenas and Discovery)

• Conducting legal research

• Drafting asset and debt spreadsheets, maintenance worksheets and child support worksheets

• Scheduling hearings, conferences, mediation, depositions, client/witness interviews

• Preparing/submitting court filings

• Daily/weekly client communication

• Time/billing entry

• Calendaring and file management (electronic and paper)

• Preparing trial exhibits

• Calculating deadlines and docketing them using calendaring systems

• Other responsibilities as assigned

The ideal candidate for this position will have 5+ years’ experience in high-asset divorce cases, civil litigation, project management. They should be adept at reading financial statements, proactive and highly organized, resourceful, well-versed in Colorado Rules of Civil Procedure, local rules and filing in Colorado courts and local jurisdictions. Requirements - Ideal candidate should possess knowledge of word processing and spreadsheets

• Detailed, accurate, and an ability to handle confidential information

• Capability to own projects, writing and negotiating, planning and organizing

• Critical thinking, problem solving, ability to work independently

• Expertise in Analyze Financial Statements

• Scheduling experience highly preferred

• Adeptness in trial preparation

• Background working with Docketing

• Practical knowledge of legal research

• Family law experience desired

• General familiarity with Time Entries

• Demonstrated knowledge of Civil Procedure

• Deep understanding of Analyze Financial Statements

• Earlier work involving Client communications

• Civil litigation experience highly desired

• Asset Allocation experience preferred

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a customer service mindset
