EMSL is seeking a Full Time Laboratory Manager specializing in Asbestos analysis and/or Microbiology analysis for its Denver, CO location. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Manage Laboratory StaffEnsure work scheduling procedures adequately addresses client needs and adjust workflow as needed to ensure client's expectations are metProvide customer services to clients: technical answers to report questions, supplies orders and project schedulingEnsure laboratory maintains compliance with the policies and procedures of Quality Assurance Systems Ensure company policies are adhered to by department personnelReport data as defined by company standardsEnsure laboratory has proper staffing and equipment to provide offered servicesEnsure laboratory staff is properly trained to analyze samples, calibrate equipment, troubleshoot equipment when possible and current on company's safety programSetup and/or maintain laboratory based on accreditation requirementsPrepare, analyze and report analytical dataTrain and learn any new techniques as outlined by corporate managementPrepare and analyze samples as needed to meet business demandsRequirements:Bachelor's Degree in a Life Sciences field: Geology, Biology, Mycology, Microbiology, or Bacteriology requiredMinimum of five (5) years' experience in an accredited ISO 17025 or TNI laboratoryMinimum one year of supervisory experienceCommercial laboratory experience using PLM (Polarized Light Microscopy) and Phase Contrast Microscopy (PCM) requiredMust be able to distinguish between colors in order to perform analysis.Commercial laboratory experience in TEM (Transmission Electron Microscopy) helpfulMust have knowledge of Environmental Microbiology analysis and equipment qualifications and calibrationsProficiency with Microbiology laboratory spore trap and direct fungal examination is a plusKnowledge ISO 17025 procedures is requiredMust have experience with Quality Assurance/Quality Control in a laboratory settingAble to meet corporate deadlines for QA/QC reportsMust be able to travel to for training if necessaryMust be able to work independently and with a teamMust be able to work well under pressure and meet client deadlinesMust have good computer skills both in typing and MS OfficeMay need to travel for training to corporate office in Cinnaminson, NJAvailable Shift:Monday to Friday 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. EMSL offers full time benefits: medical, dental, 401(k), voluntary benefits, paid time off, holiday pay and a flexible spending account. The pay range for this position is depending on experience. Pay range for this position is from $70,000.00 to $80,000.00 annually.
