Your impact within our firm

In this role, you will serve clients through the development of McKinsey Energy Solution's content expertise (assets, knowledge, tools) on the Market Intelligence trading and power/gas markets team, and deliver that expertise to client serving teams and, at times, directly to clients.

You'll work on client engagements in a number of ways: as part of the client service team on a workstream in their area of expertise, most often under direction of other content experts; provide short-term support delivering key insights on content-focused questions. You will partner with consultants to understand knowledge needs; provide content knowledge to consulting teams in area of expertise.

You will drive analyses to provide unique insights for client serving teams and clients directly, as required. You will support the development and maintenance of capabilities (including assets, knowledge, tools, fact packs, case studies, primers) in their area of expertise. You will serve as a full-time member of a knowledge building team and support project proposals in area of expertise, as needed.

Your qualifications and skills

1+ years of relevant work experience plus university or master's degree in relevant area preferred Highly valued experience (in academia or work environment) in energy industry, power system modeling, commodity markets Strong understanding of the energy sector, power or commodity trading/markets, power system modeling Basic understanding of research techniques, information sources, and statistical analysis/analytic techniques as relevant to role Coding skills in Python/R, knowledge of data science techniques and machine learning a plus
