PLEASE NOTE:

T his is a temporary position and employment cannot be guaranteed beyond September 30, 2024.

It may be either full or part-time.

We will begin the review of applications on July 3, 2024 and continue until a finalist is identified.

Organizational Relationships : This position reports to the Budget Director and is part of

the Governor’s Finance team. This position does not have supervisory responsibility.

Salary Range: $30 to $35 per hour, or $62,400 to $72,800 (based on 1.0 FTE)

Summary of Functions: The Governor’s Office is seeking a Grant Coordinator to join their team. This position requires a self-starter who is outgoing, enthusiastic and has a positive attitude and good judgment. Candidates should have strong analytical skills, organizational skills, and oral and written communications skills. Candidates should possess proven problem solving acumen, be detail oriented, a quick learner, and have the ability to multitask. They should demonstrate personal integrity, confidence, diplomacy, and flexibility. This position will provide support in the administration of over $22 million Governor’s Emergency Education Relief Fund (GEER) portfolio, including managing interagency agreements with multiple agencies, providing technical assistance to grant subrecipients, processing financial transactions, budget approval, maintaining a complete and accurate record of transactions, grant reporting, and subrecipient monitoring.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage inter-agency agreements with multiple State agencies related to GEER funds, sub grantees and contractors, in compliance with state and federal fiscal rules and regulations

  • Ensure the Governor’s Office is following all relevant and applicable Federal and State Fiscal Rules and Procedures, including meeting all reporting deadlines

  • Maintain accurate reporting and tracking mechanisms for grant budgets and expenses related to the Governor’s Emergency Education Relief Fund

  • Provide technical assistance to subrecipients related to fiscal and grant related matters

  • Work with the GEER grant supervisor in entering and posting various transactions into the State of Colorado CORE System and performing fiscal year end duties are needed

  • Perform financial reporting and financial transactions related to sub-grantee funding as required

  • Review and approve subrecipient grant budgets in accordance with the OMB uniform guidance (2 CFR 200 subpart E - Cost principles), grant agreement, and other regulatory requirements

  • Maintain accurate records of subgrantees' expenditures and fiscal documentation related to compliance and deliverables

  • Review and approve subgrantee payment documents in accordance with State and Federal rules

    General

  • Adhere to all health and safety policies in the planning and execution of activities

  • Use word processing, spreadsheet, database, and scheduling software applications to prepare correspondence, plans, reports, schedules, and other documents related to the project

  • Provides continuous effort to improve operations, streamline processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality customer service

  • Participate in project teams as required

  • Other duties as requested and required

Minimum Qualifications, Substitutions, Conditions of Employment & Appeal Rights

Education/Experience : Minimum 1 year of related work experience.

Preferred Qualifications : Minimum of 2 years working in grants management (federal grants preferred). Knowledge of State and Federal fiscal policies and procedures. Knowledge of K-12 education and/or higher education. Experience with the State of Colorado fiscal reporting system CORE. Experience with Grants in CORE. Knowledge of federal requirements and OMB circulars.
