Inner City Health Center First Impressions Team Member - Front Office Receptionist in Denver, Colorado
Summary of Position:
This position requires a pleasant and likeable person who is reliable and will work to ensure patients are scheduled or rescheduled, checked-in, checked-out, collecting payment and facilitating the efficient running of a clinic.
The ideal candidate will model a mission centered service attitude, be professional and courteous and provide excellent customer service experience to all who enter the clinic.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Greeting and welcoming patients to the practice.
- Ensures all patients enjoy a positive experience and are treated with the care and compassion they deserve.
- Scheduling, rescheduling, or canceling medical, dental, behavioral health and enrollment appointments as needed and providing appointment
reminders or calls. 4. Routing inbound referrals. 5. Assisting patients to fill out information forms. 6. Communicating with the back-office team when patients arrive. 7. Entering and updating patient records concisely and accurately. 8. Verifying insurance on the date of service. 9. Collecting payments and closing cash drawer at the end of day as needed. 10. Providing information to patients of various services offered by the clinic. 11. Maintaining patient waiting areas, office files and desk areas in a manner that is organized and represents a professional atmosphere. 12. Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to all HIPPA regulations. 13. Performing general office duties, such as answering telephones, photocopying, filing, scanning and faxing.
Skills and Requirements:
- Ability to work well under pressure with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work with patients to identify concerns and properly address patient needs.
- Capacity to build rapport, participate in team development, and motivating performance.
- Able to work well with patients, staff, guests and volunteers in all departments within ICH and the public at large.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of EHR systems for all departments.
- Ability to communicate clearly with patients, prospective patients and insurance companies.
- Punctuality, excellent time management skills and able to multi-task.
- Proven ability to follow through with assigned projects, identify problems and take initiative.

Education and/or Experience:
Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent. Minimum of 1 year experience in a similar clinical setting. Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred but not required.
Physical Requirements:
Normal work environment is in an office and medical and dental clinical setting, which involves some physical risks requiring basic safety precautions. This position routinely requires sitting, standing, bending/stooping, operating a computer for extended periods, and lifting or carrying objects up to 25 pounds. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision. This position requires frequent walking throughout the medical clinic and offices and may require walking up and down flights of stairs. Must be able to provide personal transportation to multiple meetings offsite from ICHC.
