Robert Half Epic Project Manager in Denver, Colorado

Description

We are on the lookout for a dedicated and experienced Epic Project Manager. The Epic Project Manager will be responsible for the successful planning, execution, and delivery of projects related to Epic Systems, particularly Epic Cheers. This role requires a deep understanding of Epic implementations, excellent project management skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders. You will ensure that projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget, while also managing risks and resolving issues that arise.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Planning: Develop detailed project plans for Epic-related initiatives, including Epic Cheers implementations, upgrades, and optimizations. Define project scope, objectives, timelines, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders.

  • Stakeholder Management: Act as the primary point of contact for all Epic project stakeholders. Communicate project goals, progress, and issues to stakeholders, including executives, department heads, and technical teams.

  • Execution & Monitoring: Oversee the execution of project tasks, ensuring adherence to project plans and timelines. Monitor project progress, identify potential risks and issues, and implement corrective actions as needed.

  • Resource Management: Coordinate and manage resources, including internal team members, Epic consultants, and external vendors. Ensure that the team is adequately staffed and that resources are effectively allocated.

  • Budget & Scheduling: Manage project budgets, including tracking expenses and ensuring cost control. Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring timely delivery of milestones and final deliverables.

  • Quality Assurance: Ensure that project deliverables meet quality standards and adhere to Epic best practices. Conduct regular reviews and testing to validate that the solutions meet business requirements.

  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including project plans, status reports, risk logs, and meeting minutes. Ensure that documentation is up-to-date and accessible to stakeholders.

  • Training & Support: Oversee the training of end-users and provide support during and after the implementation of Epic Cheers. Ensure that users are proficient in utilizing new systems and processes.

  • Continuous Improvement: Evaluate project outcomes and processes to identify opportunities for improvement. Implement lessons learned to enhance future project management practices.

    Requirements

  • Experience: 7+ years of project management experience in healthcare IT, with a strong focus on Epic Systems, including Epic Cheers. Proven track record of managing complex Epic implementations and upgrades.

  • Certification: PMP (Project Management Professional) or similar certification is preferred. Epic certification in relevant modules, including Epic Cheers, is highly desirable.

  • Technical Skills: Deep understanding of Epic Systems, including Epic Cheers.

  • Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders effectively.

  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to proactively address and resolve project challenges.
