The Associate Director, Patient Access Field Operations, US Market Access plays a key role in the operational excellence efforts of the US Market Access team. The role will act as a liaison primarily between the Managers of Patient Access, Sales and the broader Payer and Trade/Distribution team. The field-based incumbent is responsible for ensuring alignment among key stakeholders and implementing, executing, and analyzing effectiveness of field execution strategies for MPA team. Additionally, the incumbent will be responsible for training, analytics, skill development and operational support for the MPA team with the goal of driving standardization of tactical execution across the team. This individual, partnering with the analytics team, will review and analyze data across Payer, SP, and the HUB and operationalize that data, implementing best practices across the MPA team with an ultimate outcome of improving Conversion Rate, Time to Therapy and overall patient access to MTPA products.

This position is vital in maximizing patient access to Radicava and other Mitsubishi Tanabe Pharma America (MTPA) portfolio products. This person will help to drive a uniform method of working with the goal of optimizing field force collaboration leading to optimizing patient access.

Responsibilities

  • Routinely work in the field with Market Access colleagues, initially focusing on the Patient Access team training, skill development and identification of best practices.

  • Assessing the effectiveness of the MPA teams operational processes, field execution strategies and training needs, and aligning with the Director of the MPA’s and Head of Market Access to implement changes.

  • Continually analyzes, summarizes, and provides market access field training needs and solutions, related to the current issues and trends, to leadership.

  • Partner with MPA leadership and Sales Leadership to analyze account/business planning processes and identify opportunities that may exist in specific territories, implement plans for improvement with MPAs.

  • Partners with stakeholders, inclusive of Market Access Leadership and home office staff, specifically as it relates to leveraging data, insights, and analytics to drive decision that may contribute to the standardization of work practices.

  • In coordination with Director of the MPA’s and Head of Market Access, contributes to the development of tools and reports to track customer-specific critical success factors, strategic imperatives, key tactical programs, performance metrics and KPIs.

  • Responsible for collecting and sharing field market access insights to leadership requiring a broad range of market access expertise including reimbursement, patient access, and managed care.

  • Based on field identification of best practices, identify potential strategic patient access initiatives and best methods of troubleshooting issues

  • Track and report successes and challenges and offer potential solutions to the Head of Market Access and - Director of MPAs.

  • Works closely with sales force to identify key practices where reimbursement / access services programs need additional assistance.

  • Work with legal and compliance to ensure SOP’s and procedures are followed and ensure communication and implementation of the MPA team.

  • Serves as a market access excellence specialist for the field.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred

  • Minimum of 7 years in reimbursement, contract strategy, operations, insights and analytics, managed care, or closely related field

  • Minimum of 5 years in a field-based market access role

  • Preferred Experience: direct management and/or sales training experience, market access, Trade, Distribution; Neurology, CNS; Specialty Pharmacy; Infusion; Rare Disease, Pharmacy Benefit product(s), prior success in product launch strategy, planning, and execution

  • Demonstrated expertise in reimbursement and coding.

  • Demonstrated expertise in business planning processes and flawless execution.

  • Extensive knowledge of Managed Care, Government, and Federal payer sectors

  • Proven understanding of the product launch lifecycle, from strategy through execution

  • Outstanding leadership, team development and coaching skills

  • Well-honed interpersonal skills and customer orientation; proven ability to build and maintain strong working relationships internally and externally up to executive levels.

  • Strong project management skills coupled with sense of urgency; able to manage concurrent projects and initiatives within established timelines.

  • Budget management skills

  • Effective communication skills: oral, written, training/presentation.

  • Proficient in MS Office including strong Excel skills.

  • Must be able to travel 60% domestically

The salary range for this position is $129,000 - $220,000. Factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, job-related skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations may influence base pay offered. This salary may be subject to a geographic adjustment (according to a specific city and state and depending on the role), if an authorization is granted to work outside of the location listed in this posting.

This position is eligible to participate in our annual Short-Term Incentive (STI) program. Specific information about the plan including eligibility rules and target, will be furnished upon hire.
