Description of Job
This position provides support and assistance for the Office of Appeals: communications with members (Appellants), member representatives and advocates, attorneys, county department representatives, single entry point representatives, community center board representatives, State Department staff and Office of Administrative Courts staff.
Typical duties include, but are not limited to:
Reviewing new appeal filing notifications from the Office of Administrative Courts Researching, assigning, and notifying appropriate parties of new case filings Monitoring case status and additional notifications from Office of Administrative Courts Entering new appeals into case management software and updates as necessary Utilizing State of Colorado rules, Department policies and procedures and knowledge of legal practices to respond to questions from case parties Reviewing case files and Initial Decision transferred from the Office of Administrative Courts after Initial Decision is written Coordinating with the Office of Administrative Courts regarding electronic file processing and obtaining transcripts Updating case management software with Initial Decision information and updates as new information is submitted Preparing notices to be sent to appropriate parties along with Initial Decision (via U.S. Mail) Handling all general support for the Office of Appeals including: word processing, data entry, fax and mail processing, copying, scanning and electronic storage, archiving, filing and records management Other duties as assigned
Experience only
Experience Only: Five (5) years of relevant experience in healthcare administration, public administration, office management, legal administration, or legal document preparation.
