Robert Half Accounts Payable Clerk in Denver, Colorado
Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for an Accounts Payable Clerk in the Oil & Gas industry, located in Denver, Colorado. In this role, you will be responsible for handling a variety of accounting tasks, from processing invoices to maintaining vendor records. You will also be tasked with implementing and managing various spreadsheets and databases for tracking and reporting purposes.
Responsibilities:
• Execute the weekly check run process, ensuring accuracy and efficiency
• Code invoices and electronic field tickets, and handle any BOLO import failures
• Manage and maintain vendor records, including setting up new vendors and handling W-9 documentation
• Utilize the electronic invoice workflow system to scan, validate, and route invoices
• Conduct reconciliations of vendor statements and perform analysis for 1099 filings
• Handle uncashed checks and stalled credit card payments, executing voids and reissues of payment as necessary
• Ensure appropriate sales tax has been charged on invoices
• Provide accounting support and answer system inquiries from team members
• Track the receipt of critical pay invoices and maintain vendor Pricebook rates in the electronic workflow system
• Document procedures in OneNote and provide training and support to vendors utilizing the electronic workflow system. Requirements • Must hold a minimum of 3 years of experience in an Accounts Payable role within the Oil & Gas industry
• Demonstrable knowledge and experience with Accounts Payable (AP) procedures
• Proficiency in using Open Invoice software
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to create and manipulate spreadsheets
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all work
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills
• Ability to effectively communicate, both written and verbal
• Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Proven track record in meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Understanding of confidentiality obligations and willingness to adhere to them
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred
• Familiarity with industry-standard accounting principles and regulations.
