A day in the life
Our Strategic Capital accounting team is responsible for the consolidation, financial statement preparation and external reporting of large multi-billion-dollar ventures and various smaller joint ventures formed in the United States. We present the financial results and operating metrics of the ventures internally and to external users such as banks and investors. As a Manager in Strategic Capital Reporting, you will be responsible for consolidating, reviewing, analyzing and reporting the financial statements and results of a multi-billion-dollar venture and several smaller joint ventures that Prologis manages and invests in. Financial statements are prepared under U.S. GAAP for reporting to Prologis, and U.S. GAAP, IFRS and/or fair value reporting as applicable for external reporting. You will also be responsible for managing a team of up to 2 direct reports. You will be given the opportunity to interact with various internal teams in a complex and fast-paced environment. Yo u should have a background in financial reporting, proven leadership ability, superior analytical and decision-making skills and a desire to learn and develop others.
Key responsibilities include:
- Provide strong leadership to the US Strategic Capital Reporting team and ensure the integrity of our financial statements for one large multi-billion-dollar fund, adherence to accounting and reporting requirements, and timely financial close, analysis and reporting.
- Responsible for the accounting requirements of several joint ventures including, but not limited to monthly close, financial statement preparation, distribution calculations and communication with joint venture partners
- Review monthly analysis of financial data, including the management fee and equity in earnings calculations supporting Prologis' monthly results.
- Review monthly and quarterly consolidation and analysis of venture financial statements under US GAAP, IFRS and fair value as applicable
- Responsible for the preparation, review and distribution of the monthly and quarterly reports to venture partners, including the annual audited financial statements
- Key role in coordinating the requests and the flow of information and documentation during external audit
- Proactive communication with internal customers (Prologis accounting, fund management and global strategic capital teams)
- Manage and oversee a team of up to 2 direct reports. Responsible for overseeing and reviewing the team's work, as well as the training and development of team members.
- Responsible for assessing the quality and effectiveness of processes / systems and recommending/implementing effective enhancements.
- Partner with various other departments to facilitate process improvements.
- Assist business partners with understanding accounting policies and practices and act as a primary point of contact for communication with partners
- Provide coaching, support, and motivation to the team and embody Prologis' traits and the Finance Leadership Principles.

Building blocks for success
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting and 5+ years of experience, preferably with accounting experience at a large multi-entity company and / or public accounting experience.
- CPA license preferred
- Extensive working knowledge of US GAAP and fair value accounting
- Effectively work within required reporting timelines across the functional and cultural lines of a fast-paced, multinational company
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to confidently, clearly, and concisely communicate issues an suggested resolutions with management and internal audiences
- Demonstrated abilities to work in a fast-paced and agile environment, to prioritize and manage multiple assignments, and find to solutions for new or unexpected challenges
- Manage issues across multiple internal and external audiences
- Able to make decisions individually and be accountable for those decisions, but also knows when to involve senior management
- Strong analytical skills
