Registered Vascular Technician – Heart & Vascular Clinic
Fast-paced, high-volume clinic is looking for top skilled Registered Vascular Technician
Work location: TH Heart & Vascular Clinic #18785 - 2505 Scripture Street Denton, TX 76201
Work hours: Full-time, 40 hours weekly, Monday thru Thursday, 8:00am - 5:00pm; Friday 8:00am - 2:00pm
Travel: 25% to surrounding clinics as needed ( mileage reimbursement provided )
Here’s What You Need
Associates Degree Related field (preferred)
Other Graduate of accredited ultrasound technology program (preferred)
1 Year Related experience in a Vascular Laboratory (required) AND
RVT - Registered Vascular Technologist Upon Hire (required) OR
RVS - Registered Vascular Sonographer Upon Hire (required)
Possess an excellent working knowledge of vascular anatomy/pathology, the vascular patient, and treatment of vascular diseases (the cardiac and pulmonary comments are not really relevant to this position since it is a vascular position and not as much related to cardiac as an Echo position)
Be able to demonstrate excellent skills in vascular scanning of arterial duplex, venous duplex, carotid duplex, abdominal aorta and associated diseases
Be able to work with physician for venous procedures
Have excellent communication skills
Have good computer skills
Possess a strong work ethic and a high level of professionalism
What You Will Do
Delivers care to patients utilizing the Registered Vascular Technician/Sonographer Process
Will perform diagnostic carotid arterials and venous studies of upper and lower extremities and venous studies of patients with suspected peripheral vascular disease by following ICAVL guidelines.
Prepares and maintains operations logs and calibrates and maintains equipment, and order supplies when necessary.
Explains procedures to patient to obtain cooperation and reduce anxieties of patient. Communicates with physicians, managers, and co-workers as appropriate about changes in patient’s clinical conditions while undergoing vascular procedure.
Conducts vascular laboratory studies in accordance with the vascular laboratory protocols.
Ensures that all vascular laboratory studies are scheduled in an appropriate manner to satisfy the clinical situation.
Maintains the vascular laboratory quality assurance database.
Reviews test results with interpreting physician.
