Texas Digestive Care, PLLCis seeking anexperiencedGastroenterology Physician Assistantfor a full-time position to work in a combined outpatient (90%) and inpatient (10%) setting. We are an independent physician-owned private practice based in Denton, TX, with a great team. Texas Digestive Care was founded by Dr. Arora in 2021. He previously founded Denton Digestive Care, as part of Texas Health Physicians Group, in 2013, in the same location. In this position, you will have the opportunity to work closely with Dr. Arora, who is Board-Certified in Gastroenterology and has been the recipient of several awards. His practice is supported by an experienced and dedicated team of a practice manager, medical assistants, medical receptionist as well as back-office support staff. Duties of this positioninclude, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Provide scheduled patient services under the direct supervision and responsibility of the physician.
  • Obtain detailed patient history and perform a thorough physical examination.
  • Determine tentative diagnosis and order appropriate tests.
  • Counsel patients and their family on health and disease.
  • Issue prescription orders for medications and complete prescription refill requests.
  • Review and sign-off on lab and imaging results.
  • Document patient encounter appropriately and in a timely manner to ensure consistency of care and proper billing.
  • Initiate and manage therapy for preventative and chronic GI disease.
  • Use current medical guidelines and protocols in making medical decisions.
  • Use formularies and guidelines to help patients manage the cost of their care.
  • Be proficient in the use of electronic medical record system.
  • Inform physician about any problems or discrepancies that might arise.
  • Cultivate a climate of trust and compassion for the patients.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members.
  • Adhere to the standards of medical ethics and laws governing patient care and the practice of medicine.
  • Maintain in good standing licensure with the Texas State Board of Medical Examiners.
  • Participate in all continuing education, training, and other requirements to remain in good standing for credentialing purposes at assigned medical facilities.
  • Comply with all federal and state regulations related to the position.
  • Comply with all company policies.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule as dictated by business need and operations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Licensure:

  • A Masters degree from a Physician Assistant program.
  • Licensed as a Physician Assistant by the Texas Medical Board.
  • Certification from National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.

Experience:At least 6 months of Gastroenterology work experience is required.

Please Note: All job offers are contingent on the successful completion of pre-employment background and reference check. Salary for this position is highly competitive ($95,000 - $110,000 per year) and will be commensurate with yo r experience.
