Delta Health Mammography Technologist in Delta, Colorado
POSITION: Mammography Technologist
Operates radiologic equipment and performs mammography procedures to assist physicians in the diagnosis of disease by performing the following duties.
DUTIES: * Performs Mammography procedures as established by the referring physician and radiologist. * Prepares and positions the patient for mammography procedures. Explains procedures to patient to reduce anxieties and obtain patient cooperation. * Moves imaging equipment into specified position determines exposure factors based on patient characteristics and adjusts equipment controls to set exposure factors and produce images of proper detail, density, and accuracy. * Practices radiation protection techniques to minimize radiation to patient and staff. * Scans previous reports and images into system. Makes sure previous exams are digitized and available for comparison. * Explains purpose and procedures for breast self-examination to patients and answers patients' questions. * Performs other administrative tasks as necessary. Completes forms and maintenance of records. Sorts reminder letters for patients and physicians. * Mails letters out at appropriate intervals.

REQUIREMENTS: * High school diploma/GED required * Completion of an AMA accredited School of Radiologic Technology. * ARRT Registration and BLS Certification Required. * Proficiency and certification in Mammography is required or within six months of hire. * Must demonstrate a working knowledge of the RIS/PACS system and understanding and working knowledge of the Windows environment and Meditech. * Subject to a pre-employment background check and drug screen.
OREFERRED SKILLS: * Two years previous experience in a Hospital setting as a Mammographer preferred.
WAGE: $28.37 - $41.01/ Hour
