POSITION: Certified Pharmacy Tech II

DUTIES: * Preparation, distribution, delivery and stocking of all drugs medications in the hospital and Grand Mesa Pharmacy. * Preparation of IV admixtures, parenteral and enteral nutrition formulations, sterile irrigation solutions, unit dose narcotics and extemporaneously compounded topical and oral medications. * Assist Oncology buyer in maintaining and controlling infusion inventory. * Assist Oncology buyer in receiving chemotherapy into inventory. * Using closed system transfer devices, aseptically prepares chemotherapy. * Compounds biologics and IV infusions. * Conducting monthly drug inventory and storage inspections for nursing care units. * Protects patients by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols. * Completes annual competencies and complies with USP compounding regulations. * Billing and crediting of patients for medications.
REQUIREMENTS: * High school diploma/GED required * Must have certification as a Pharmacy Technician from Pharmacy Technician Certification Board. * Must successfully complete in-house training program consisting of pharmaceutical calculations, aseptic technique, sterile compounding, and extemporaneous compounding. * Must successfully complete in-house training program for chemotherapy IV preparation if no previous experience in chemo preparation. * Previous experience as hospital pharmacy technician * Subject to a pre-employment background check and drug screen.
WAGE: $17.55 - $25.37 / Hour
