Delta County Assessor Technician in Delta, Colorado

POSITION: Assessor Technician

The technician will perform routine and detailed administrative support functions to ensure efficient and compliant operation of the Assessor s Office of Delta County. Technician will routinely communicate with and assist members of the public, coordinate with internal departments and members of the public.

DUTIES: * Perform all duties associated with mobile home and real property transfers. * Read and remain current of legal transfer statutes and procedures. * Provide information to the public, in person, in writing and by phone on property locations, descriptions, values, and ownership. * Administer property transfers including retrieving deeds; pair with transfer declaration-1000 Form; match legal description to the tax roll description; change ownership on the mapping card, plat books, and in the computer. * Proofread hard copies of land splits, combinations, and subdivision of ownership documents. * Create new accounts for parcel subdivisions, combinations, boundary adjustments, and similar. Enter new legal descriptions, create new mapping cards and enter data into the plat book. * Mail sale confirmation letters for all property transfers and agricultural land questionnaires. * Provide property facts and descriptions to the general public, insurance agents, and realtors. * Receive public inquiries via any communication venue, decipher needs and respond or direct to appropriate personnel. * Assist and provide clerical support to appraisers. * Attend formal training as required by office policy or as directed. * Maintain and record hours worked and paid time off accurately.

REQUIREMENTS: * A high school diploma or GED equivalent is required. * Candidate must pass a background investigation. * Must possess and maintain a valid Colorado Driver's License with a satisfactory driving record.

  • Combination of education and experience could waive specific requirement.

PREFERRED SKILLS: * Two (2) years of experience working with the public in a detailed administrative position is preferred.

WAGE: $21.05 - $23.15/ Hour

SHIFTS: Full-time - 40 hours per week

JOB SITE: Delta, CO
