What You'll Be Doing

Job Scope: Supporting daily electrical / instrumentation design and technical support duties at an industrial chemical's facility for up to multiple projects.

Primary responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Ability to work with direction of Engineer and\or Sr Designer and interface with other disciplines.

  • Can meet all deadlines as required by project schedule

  • Perform the necessary fieldwork, pulling measurements, as-building existing systems, etc.

  • Ability and willingness to learn Senior design skills to continue to grow and support the department needs.

  • MTO Material Take Off - Estimating required material for projects.

  • Must be able to work various projects and maintain project schedule.

  • Design, Review and Maintain all manner of I&E drawings including but not limited to, P&I’s, single lines, motor schematics, I/O Drawings, Panel schedules and loadings, Cable tray routes, CCS and M&E databases.

Ideal Background

Education: Associate degree in Engineering Technology or Computer-Aided Drafting is required.

Certification: Certification is not required at this level.

Experience: This position requires 5 or more years of relevant industrial experience in electrical and instrumentation drafting and design. The ideal candidate:

  • Should be proficient in MicroStation, Excel and Word and PDMS. E3D experience is beneficial. AutoCAD experience is also beneficial.

  • Able to demonstrate the ability to design in congested operating areas and must have fieldwork experience.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit, stand, or walk for long periods of time.

  • Some work may require working at heights above 6 feet, climbing stairs, ladders, scaffolding, and using man-lifts, etc.

  • Be able to work in an operating chemical plant in the heat and humidity of South Mississippi.
