Description We are offering a long-term contract role for an Intermediate Accountant in Deland, Florida. This role is centered around assisting in the fiscal year-end process, preparing consolidated financial statements, and conducting annual audits for a government entity. Additionally, the role includes various accounting functions such as reconciliations and closing entries.

Responsibilities:

• Assisting with the closing of books for the fiscal year

• Participating in annual audit activities

• Preparing consolidated financial statements as per government accounting standards

• Conducting regular bank and account reconciliations

• Making necessary closing entries in the general ledger

• Maintaining and updating the general ledger as per accrual accounting standards

• Preparing and posting journal entries as required

• Producing detailed financial reports for review and distribution

• Ensuring all financial statements adhere to governmental accounting standards

• Assisting in any other financial or accounting tasks as required by the Director of Finance. Requirements

• Possess knowledge and experience in Audit Activities

• Ability to execute Closing Entries accurately and timely

• Familiarity with Governmental Accounting

• Proficiency in Bank Reconciliations

• Proven experience in Reporting financial data

• Ability to create and maintain Journal Entries

• Understanding of Financial Statement preparation

• Proficient in managing General Ledger

• Experience and understanding of Accrual Accounting

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field preferred

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

• Proficiency in relevant accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in work

• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
