Stetson University Director of Alumni Engagement AS9591 in DeLand, Florida
Reporting to the Executive Director of Alumni Engagement and Annual Giving, the Director of Alumni Engagement assists with vision and strategic planning with a strong focus on building, fostering, and enhancing relationships with alumni and parents to advance the mission and goals of the office.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Partner with the Executive Director to engage in creative and strategic planning to build vision and goals for the office, focusing on engaging constituents as well as revenue generation
Develop meaningful, creative programming that engages alumni with the university and each other
Supervise the Associate Director, Alumni and Community Engagement, Assistant Director for Young Alumni and Student Engagement, and the Assistant Director of Programming
Work closely with Annual Giving on Reunion giving, Giving Challenge, and support for the Stetson Fund
Collaborate with Executive Director and staff on the planning and execution of all Presidential/Campaign and regional events, partnering with regional alumni volunteers and campus colleagues, which includes travelling to those events as needed
Take the lead on signature gatherings such as Leadership Stetson, Alumni Awards, and Class Reunions at Homecoming
Work with the College of Law to ensure collaboration on high-level events and communication between campus offices
Help maintain the alumni and donor database, ensuring accurate, efficient data collection and entry
Maintain and manage a portfolio of donors to enhance fundraising efforts
Coordinate external communication to constituents with the Associate Director and others within Development Marketing
Establish effective partnerships with faculty and staff
Develop strong, positive relationships within the University community and among external constituencies
Keep current with best practices
Monitor budgets
Attend campus events, board meetings and other functions as needed
Perform other site and position specific duties as assigned

Required Experience
A bachelor’s degree
Minimum of 2 years of experience working on a college or university campus or similar field with volunteer management and supervisory experience

Work Environment: The work environment is lively and energetic. Daily operations are in the office, but events can be either indoor or outdoor.
