RIO GRANDE COUNTY HR Grant Specialist in Del Norte, Colorado
POSITION: Grant Specialist
DUTIES: - Research, identify, analyze, and recommend sources of external funds and create or develop proposals to secure funds for new grant opportunities and grant renewal opportunities. - Prepare work plans and timelines to ensure submission of state or federal grant applications and program reports in a timely manner. - Ensure compliance with conditions of grants by monitoring, analyzing, and interpreting agreements, contracts, expenses, activities, and federal and state regulations; provide guidance to staff. - Analyze project costs and prepare budget justifications and budget revisions for awarded grants. - Serve as a liaison between the agency, the State, and grant funding sources by attending meetings, responding to information requests, and resolving issues between parties involved. - Maintain files, records and prepare reports related to grants issued and or received. - Develop and amend grant contracts, including grant contracts awarded to sub-recipients. - Collaborate with the Chief Finance Officer on grant policy development and processes. - Position is dependent on grant funding.
REQUIREMENTS: - Bachelor's degree and Grant Management/Writing certification preferred. Strong research and written communication skills required. Some common degrees for grant specialists include English, communications, or marketing. - Bachelor's degree plus three (3) years of related work experience; OR any equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that provi the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. - Thorough knowledge of modern principles and practices of grant writing and management. - Excellent communication skills including verbal, written, and presentation. Thorough knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and/or regulations governing grants management practices. - Ability to research, analyze, and recommend appropriate grant opportunities to meet organizational needs. - Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all County Department Heads and Elected Officials, Local, State and Federal agency representatives, and local government support organization representativ - Ability to work independently without close supervision and work in a collaborative manner to accomplish the mission of the organization. - Strong organization, time management, and project management skills. - Background check and drug screen including marijuana is required for this position.
WAGE: Starting $28.38 - $29.52 per hour
