$25/hr

Located in Dane County, our organization offers outstanding facilities and a competitive salary and benefits package. These are school year positions working 7.5 hours per day on days when school is in session. This role is serving grades K-12, and the current schedule is 7:30 am - 3:30 pm (subject to change based on need).

The primary responsibility of this position is to provide assistance to meet the social, academic, and personal needs of students with special needs. Special Education aides will work with students who present learning, cognitive, emotional, and/or behavioral disabilities. Duties may include working one-on-one with students, assisting with student testing and grading, supervising students in classrooms, libraries, lunchrooms, during recess, and on field trips, monitoring student behavior and safety, data entry of student attendance and records into the computer system, answering telephones, assisting visitors and parents, and distributing mail .

Minimum Requirements:

• An associates degree is preferred; computer knowledge and skills; basic reading, mathematical and language skills to provide instructional assistance; the ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, teachers and other staff.

• Previous experience working with computers and children with special needs preferred.
