Job Title: General Production Worker - Up to 19.75/hour

Job Description

• Follow all food-related GMP and SOP guidelines

• Pack items on the lines for shipment

• Ensure items are not damaged, broken, etc.

• Correctly use ingredients for mixing

• Check weights and accurately record all lot and bag numbers used

• Practice sanitation of the equipment due to food packaging

• Maintain a clean work area

• Consistently lift 50-55 lbs at waist height, or shift weight side to side

• Work in confined spaces, such as spiral staircases

• Work in a hot environment in non-AC areas

• Utilize heights, such as catwalks above machines

Hard Skills

• Ability to lift 50-55 lbs consistently

• Willingness to train on forklift usage in the future

• Previous machine operation experience in manufacturing

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Defiance, Ohio.

Work Environment

Large, older style brick manufacturing building with additional locations across the street. They produce dry powder items like Swiss Miss Hot Cocoa mix. This is a food-grade, GMP-required facility. The environment can be hot in areas, but the mixing area is air-conditioned. The starting pay is $19/hour with a $0.50 2nd shift and $0.75 3rd shift differential. The facility requires adherence to GMP requirements, including checking for food allergies, no jewelry or removable items, wearing uniforms at all times, and steel-toed boots. There are a lot of stairs and walking required due to the building layout.
