DEERFIELD ACADEMY Social Media & Email Manager in Deerfield, Massachusetts

DEERFIELD - Social Media & Email Manager Reporting to the Associate Director of Advancement Communications, and in frequent collaboration with members of several teams on campus including the Communications, Admissions, Advancement, Athletics, Student Life Office teams, the Social Media and Email Manager oversees the Academy\'s social media channels, email CRM system, and online advertising platforms with an emphasis on setting, measuring, and achieving strategic goals, gathering assets, distributing news and information to stakeholders, increasing engagement, and ensuring a consistent voice for the Academy in all electronic communications. Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Create and maintain comprehensive (institutionally focused) social media and email calendars: In partnership with the associate director, set annual strategy for social media channels and email marketing; Monitor Academy calendars to ensure that events are covered; Plan for annual event and holiday coverage; Consult with internal customers on how social media and email marketing can best support their goals for yield, fundraising, engagement, etc. Pitch ideas for campaigns, posts, and content on a regular basis. Create original, well-researched content and adapt previously designed assets and content for use in online channels: Post to social media channels (Meta, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn etc.), The Pulse on Deerfield.edu, paid search and display advertising, and other emerging platforms; Collect assets (photography, etc.) for social media, email, and other online channels; Train, support, and guide administrative users in content management, social media, and related technologies ; Develop campaigns using online channels to support promotional and strategic branding, fundraising, and yield goals for the institution. Develop and manage bulk email templates and systems: Schedule, build, and send emails (invitations, etc.) and newsletters using Salesforce; Train, support, and guide administrative users in email systems to encourage self-sufficiency and maximum productivity in academic and administrative departments. Monitor and consistently report on digital communication performance: Monitor and respond to comments across platforms; Review insights on Meta, Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn and make data-driven decisions about future content and audience behavior; Analyze and report on open rates, click rates, and email performance to Communications team and additional stakeholders on a regular basis; Advise on trends and opportunities to keep the Academy at the forefront of online marketing strategies and tactics; Document and maintain social media and email best practices and policies. Develop and implement plans for online content and messaging to align with, supplement, and enhance strategic institutional goals related to internal and external communications. : Maintain and grow Deerfield\'s social media presence, with an emphasis on extending outreach, recruiting, and constituent engagement; Other duties as assigned. Job Specifications Bachelor\'s degree required 3-5 years of relevant experience; experience in for-profit marketing, advertising, communications, or public relations preferred. Experience in social media management and with email CRMs. Ability to create, recreate, redesign, or adjust materials in Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or similar tools Experience with content management systems or platforms (e.g. Wordpress, Meta, Salesforce) Experience with photography and videography, writing/editing, and direct marketing tactics Basic knowledge of HTML/CSS Excellent oral and written communication skills Ability to multi-task effectively Demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion and to serving the needs of a diverse community; Ability to manage, and sensitivity to, highly confidential information.
