Walgreens Senior Director, Immunization Commercial Leader in DEERFIELD, Illinois

Job Summary

Drive the strategic growth and revenue expansion of our immunization business across multiple segments (Consumer & B2B Marketing, Sales, Product Management, Procurement, Contracting, Finance, Account Management, and Operations), both direct-to-consumer and with B2B customers including payers, health systems, and pharmaceutical manufacturers. Responsible for developing enterprise-wide consumer and commercial strategies, optimizing the marketing plan, pricing and reimbursement models, supporting sales execution, ensuring competitive differentiation, and holding internal partners accountable to execute on key program dependencies (e.g. store execution, purchasing, inventory management, etc.) to ensure that our immunization solutions deliver value and convenience to consumers, as well as payer organizations, health systems, and pharmaceutical manufacturers.

Job Responsibilities

1) Cross-Functional Leadership & Internal Alignment

  • Act as the commercial voice for the immunization business, ensuring alignment across all relevantteams across the enterprise.

  • Work closely with Consumer & B2B Marketing to create targeted campaigns and messaging forpatient/consumer and B2B audiences.

  • Partner with Pharmacy and Operations teams to shape product offerings that align with customerneeds and market dynamics.

  • Align with Procurement, Contracting, Finance & Legal to ensure compliance with reimbursement,

  • regulatory, and maximize contracting/distribution opportunities.

  • Partner with Product & Technology to continually enhance the customer experience.

2) Pricing, Contracting & Reimbursement Optimization

  • Lead the development of new pricing models, including value-based pricing models, volume based discounts, and multi-year contract structures.

  • Develop segment-specific pricing strategies that align with payer reimbursement policies, health

  • system procurement models, and pharmaceutical partnerships.

  • Ensure pricing strategies optimize reimbursement potential across commercial payers,

  • Medicaid/Medicare, and provider networks.

  • Work with Finance, Sales, Contracting, and Underwriting to structure high-value contracts that

  • drive profitability while ensuring affordability and access.

3) Commercial Strategy & Growth for Immunization Business

  • Work with cross-functional teams to shape and ensure execution of the future of immunization

  • business strategy to exceed current three-year plan expectations.

  • Develop and execute a multi-segment commercial strategy to expand our immunization solutions

  • across payers, health systems, and pharmaceutical clients.

  • Direct the development of pricing, contracting, and reimbursement models that optimize revenuewhile ensuring broad market adoption.

  • Identify new market opportunities, partnership models, and expansion strategies to grow theimmunization business.

4) Market Intelligence & Competitive Positioning

  • Conduct deep market analysis, customer segmentation, and competitive benchmarking to informcommercial decision-making.

  • Work with Marketing to develop compelling messaging, go-to-market positioning, and demandgeneration strategies.

  • Monitor payer reimbursement trends, regulatory changes, and pharma partnership modelsimpacting immunization programs.

  • Stay ahead of policy shifts and public health initiatives influencing immunization adoption andfunding.

5) Sales Enablement & Strategic Deal Execution

  • Drive impactful partnerships with consumer groups, advocacy organizations, payers, healthsystems, and pharmaceutical manufacturers.

  • Support Sales and Account Management teams with deal structuring, value propositions, andnegotiation strategies for payer, health system, and pharma customers.

  • Direct the development of playbooks and sales enablement tools to ensure commercial teams arewell-equipped to position immunization solutions effectively.

  • Establish frameworks for partnership agreements and business development opportunities with pharma companies.

  • Guide contract negotiations, renewal discussions, and expansion opportunities within existing and new customer accounts.

External Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 8 years of experience in Commercial Management, Business Development, or Growth, preferably in the healthcare, life sciences, or immunization space or High School/GED and at least 11years of experience in Commercial Management, Business Development, or Growth, preferably in the healthcare, life sciences, or immunization space.

  • Strong understanding of payer reimbursement models, health system procurement, and pharmaceutical commercialization strategies.

  • Experience in marketing, pricing, contracting, and revenue growth strategies across multiple segments.

  • Ability to analyze financial models, assess revenue impacts, and develop business cases for pricing and market expansion initiatives.

  • Demonstrated expertise in negotiating large-scale contracts and partnerships.

  • Strong leadership skills with experience in cross-functional collaboration across Sales, Product, Marketing, Operations, and Finance.

  • Excellent strategic thinking, communication, and problem-solving skills, with experiencepresenting to executive stakeholders

  • At least 5 years of experience contributing to financial decisions in the workplace.

  • At least 5 years of direct leadership, indirect leadership and/or cross- functional team leadership.

  • Willing to travel up to 25% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA or advanced degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Public Health, or a related field.

  • Experience in pharmaceutical partnerships, payer negotiations, or immunization programcommercialization.

  • Knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid reimbursement, public health funding models, and vaccine distribution economics.

  • Familiarity with Group Purchasing Organizations (GPOs), Integrated Delivery Networks (IDNs), and employer-based immunization initiatives.
