About you and this role–

Dowhas an exciting opportunity for aSeniorImprovement Engineerlocated at Deer Park Operations (DPO), located inDeer Park, TX. DPO is part of the Performance Monomers business and the improvement organization aligns through the Performance Monomers Technology Center. The DPO units are highly integrated with each other and with the rest of the site infrastructure. Reliability of these facilities is vital to the business.

You will lead the prioritization and implementation of all plant improvement opportunities, which includes capital, expense and/or Six Sigma-type projects. You will partner with the Plant and Operations leaders to solicit and collect ideas, define opportunities, and implement projects. You will meet global business goals through optimization of the process technology, implementation of improvement projects and implementation of Most Effective Technology (MET).

Responsibilities –

  • Partners with plant operation and maintenance personnel to identify and track performance indicators to be used in identification of technology gaps and continuous improvement opportunities.

  • Identify plant gaps versus critical plant performance metrics and develop project scopes to close gaps.

  • Partners with the experts to develop and implement a Plant Specific Technology Plan that delivers positive year-over-year ROC (return on capital) and non-capital continuous improvement while meeting the Plant Level Environmental, Health & Safety improvement goals.

  • Leads continuous improvement activities for the facility and serve in specific Global Project Methodology related roles of project manager or manufacturing representative on capital and expense projects.

  • Supports the capital plan for the facility and completes capital and expense projects according to identified schedule and budget.

  • Supports the facility root cause investigation process by serving as a team member or facilitator for incidents related to process technology.

  • Assist run plant team by sharing assignments during high work-load periods, providing technical support, leading Root Cause Investigations, etc.

  • Lead successful shutdown and start-up operations for large turnarounds or process trials.

  • Support operating discipline development as well as commissioning of assigned projects.

  • Fully participate in facility improvement/tech team or any other assigned teams.

Qualifications –

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in any Engineering discipline.

  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience (i.e. engineering, manufacturing or related).

  • A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States.

Preferred Skills –

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.

Willing and able to meet physical demands of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations–

  • Perform frequent bending, reaching, and lifting.

  • This role does involve elevated work greater than or equal to four feet above the ground.
