Job Title: CNC Mill Machinist (2nd Shift)
Job Description
Join our dynamic machine shop that fabricates parts for the oil and gas industry, specifically bearings and seals for rotating equipment. As a CNC Mill Machinist, you will work on a variety of work orders with part dimensions varying from 1" ID to 36" OD and up to 12" in length. You will handle materials such as carbon steel, stainless steel, babbitt, and exotic metals, utilizing both vertical and horizontal CNC milling machines, including 3, 4, and some 5 axis machines. Proficiency with Haas controllers is essential.
Responsibilities
Operate and set up CNC milling machines (both vertical and horizontal, 3/4 axis, some 5 axis).
Program CNC machines directly at the machine using Haas controllers.
Fabricate parts with precision from various materials including carbon steel, stainless steel, babbitt, and exotics.
Ensure the quality of machined parts by following blueprints and using appropriate measuring tools.
Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols.
Essential Skills
10+ years of CNC machining experience.
Proficiency in vertical and horizontal mill machining.
Experience with 3/4 axis machining.
Ability to program CNC machines at the machine using Haas controllers.
Strong blueprint reading and machining skills.
Knowledge of G code and CNC setup.
Familiarity with CAM software such as GibbsCAM and MasterCAM.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with 5 axis machining.
Ability to work with Haas and Fanuc controls.
Experience machining babbitt and split parts.
Previous experience working in a bearing shop is a plus.

Work Environment
Our medium-sized shop is clean, organized, and equipped with air conditioning to maintain a temperature of 72F. We have a busy, yet well-organized workspace with 27 employees on the day shift and 23 on the afternoon shift. The team includes CNC machinists, manual machinists, QC, welders, assemblers, and general laborers. The 2nd shift operates from Monday to Thursday, 2:00 pm to 10:30 pm, Fridays from Noon to 8:30 pm, and Saturdays are currently voluntary half days. The shift averages 50 hours per week, with a $2/hr shift differential for nights. Future work demands may require mandatory Saturdays.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00
