The Manufacturing Training Specialist is responsible for designing, delivering, and evaluating training programs for employees in a manufacturing environment. This role plays a critical part in ensuring that the workforce is well-trained, compliant with industry regulations, and capable of meeting production goals while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Training Program Development:

  • Collaborate with department managers and subject matter experts to identify training needs and objectives.
  • Design and develop training programs, modules, and materials tailored to specific job roles and skills required in the manufacturing facility.

Training Delivery:

  • Facilitate training sessions through various methods, including classroom training, hands-on workshops, on-the-job training, e-learning, and simulation.
  • Ensure that training is engaging, effective, and aligns with adult learning principles.

Safety and Compliance:

  • Develop and deliver safety training programs, emphasizing safe work practices, handling of equipment, and compliance with safety regulations.
  • Keep abreast of industry regulations and ensure that employees are trained to meet compliance standards.

Technical Skills Training:

  • Provide training on equipment operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Teach employees technical skills related to their roles, including machine operation, quality control, and production processes.

Assessment and Evaluation:

  • Conduct assessments, quizzes, and evaluations to measure the effectiveness of training programs.
  • Use feedback and assessment results to make continuous improvements to training content and methods.

Documentation and Record Keeping:

  • Maintain accurate records of training attendance, assessments, and employee progress.
  • Generate reports to track training outcomes and compliance.
  • Build and maintain training matrix for employees

Onboarding and Orientation:

  • Develop and deliver onboarding programs for new hires to ensure a smooth transition into the manufacturing environment.
  • Conduct orientation sessions to introduce employees to company policies, culture, and expectations.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Identify areas for training improvement and development based on evolving industry trends and employee feedback.
  • Stay current with training methodologies and technologies to enhance training effectiveness.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor\'s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Education, Instructional Design, Engineering).
  • Proven experience in training and development, preferably in a manufacturing setting.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, equipment, and safety regulations.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and facilitation skills.
  • Proficiency in learning management systems (LMS) and e-learning tools.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
  • Certification in adult learning or training development (e.g., CPLP) is a plus.

Preferred Skills:

  • Ability to setu , program, and operate CNC machines or manual machines.
  • Strong personal commitment to safety standards in industrial and/or manufacturing environments.
  • Proven strong ability to coach and educate others at various experience, educational levels
  • Able to provide training in various ways to accommodate different learning styles
  • An excellent communicator capable of building and maintaining relationships at all levels of the organization
  • Strong experience utilizing computers and Microsoft Office suite
  • Advanced math skills with the ability to understand and teach measuring/measurement concepts and their applications.
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Exposure to LEAN methodology and LEAN manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
