Position Summary:

This position is responsible for the full scope of product management activities for the selected additives in their portfolio. They are accountable for driving the operating profit associated with these products in ADM North America Animal Nutrition’s Specialty Ingredient business. This position, located in Decatur, IL, is responsible for optimizing the returns of the business and product lines. Driving the regional strategy through collaboration between a wide range of global and regional teams ensuring profitable long-term growth objectives are met.

Responsibilities:

  • Development and execution of the product strategy for their respective additives.

  • Responsible for PL results of business lines and associated assets.

  • Manage margin and price structures to maximize returns while working closely with procurement, formulations, production, marketing and sales.

  • Oversee product life cycle and SKU architecture to optimize asset returns. Coordinating with sales, technical, production, marketing and product development teams to ensure ideal product mix.

  • Work closely with operations and quality to ensure supply of high-quality products that meet or exceed our customers’ expectations.

  • Actively monitor competitive market activity by gathering information from regional and global teams, adjusting commercial strategies for NA accordingly.

  • Project management, drive growth and capex projects while working closely with all key stakeholders.

  • Identify and pursue strategic growth opportunities. Coordinating with regional and global management teams.

  • Work closely with S&OP teams to optimize supply chains, order execution, and warehouse footprints.

  • Actively participate in toll production negotiations while working to identify optimal toll partners and operating structures.

  • Prepare and develop reports to communicate with internal management as well as external presentations.

  • Work with Marketing and Sales teams to finalize marketing material where necessary.

  • Assist with A/R management.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Economics, Agriculture, Nutrition or Animal Sciences

  • Five or more years of experience in Animal Nutrition or Animal Health related to additive based products.

  • Knowledge of high value products a plus

  • Travel up to 25% of the time

  • Strong knowledge of these or similar additives

  • Strong financial acumen.

  • Ability to prepare and maintain annual business plans including financial targets.

  • Ability to multitask and communicate with colleagues at all levels.

  • Ability to lead in a matrix environment and drive change across teams that don’t always report to you.

  • Continue learnings and better understanding ADM portfolio of products and offerings.

  • Possess strong problem solving and analytical skills

  • Strong ability to work in a collaborative environment.

  • Have excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Strong working computer knowledge is essential – Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Salesforce are required.
