DESCRIPTION

Michael Baker International is seeking a Transportation Planner to lead our Planning efforts on a variety of assignments The selected individual will provide strategic leadership in business development, technical tasks and projects as assigned. Work duties include: Executing and leading hands-on production efforts on a wide range of transportation planning projects, including municipal master plans, access management plans, ordinance / code reviews, long-range transportation plans, freight plans, functional classification reviews, strategic plans, corridor studies and other planning type studies for local municipalities, counties, and the state or other agencies. Providing direct support to other office planning groups and project managers as needed. Directly interacting with clients, stakeholders, and the general public and leadership with stakeholder engagement and the presentation of technical material to the public. Mentoring other staff, assist in growing the Michigan transportation planning practice, and supporting marketing and business development efforts. Identifying new opportunities and assisting in securing new planning assignments.

REQUIRED SKILLS Four-year degree in Land Use/Community/Transportation/Planning or related discipline (Geography, Public Administration, etc.) 15 years of Municipal/Local government planning related experience that demonstrate a successive increase in experience and responsibilities. Ability to conduct research and prepare statistical planning reports on land use, physical, social & economic possibilities, and constraints. Excellent oral and written communication skills for preparing and presenting planning reports and projects. Strong analytical skills and the ability to work independently as well as in multi-disciplinary teams. Provide direction in developing hand or computer-generated graphic skills such as creating displays, project boards, maps, and other graphics that help communicate planning ideas and concepts. Ability to accommodate moderate travel. Valid driver's license. AICP required, with a PTP preferred

COMPENSATION

The approximate compensation range for this position is $137,735-$204,887. This compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation is dependent upon factors such as education, qualifications, experience, skillset, and physical work location.
