As a Senior Director, you will lead a high-performing team dedicated to building, managing, and optimizing our cloud network architecture, ensuring seamless, secure, and scalable operations.

As a Senior Director, you will have a direct impact on the Ford’s cloud strategy and operations, working with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions. You will be at the helm of designing and implementing the next generation of cloud network infrastructure, utilizing the full suite of GCP networking features to drive performance, reliability, and security.

You will lead a talented team of network subject matter experts, engineers, and operations specialists who are passionate about cloud technology. Your team will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the Ford’s GCP network infrastructure, ensuring it meets the highest standards of performance and security. Collaboration is key, as your team will work closely with other departments, including DevOps, Security, and Application Development, to deliver comprehensive cloud solutions.

The Senior Director, Cloud Network, specializing in GCP Cloud Networking, will be the strategic leader responsible for overseeing all aspects of cloud network design, engineering, and operations. You will drive the evolution of our cloud network infrastructure, ensuring it aligns with the Ford’s business objectives and delivers exceptional performance and reliability. This role demands a deep technical understanding of GCP’s networking capabilities, as well as the ability to lead and inspire a team of highly skilled professionals.

What you’ll do...

  • Strategic Leadership: Define and execute the vision and strategy for Ford’s GCP cloud network infrastructure, ensuring alignment with overall business goals.

  • Team Management: Lead, mentor, and grow a team of network architects, engineers, and operations staff, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence.

  • Architecture and Design: Oversee the design and implementation of robust, scalable, and secure network architectures leveraging GCP's full suite of networking services, including VPCs, Cloud Load Balancing, Cloud CDN, Cloud DNS, and more.

  • Operational Excellence: Ensure the continuous operation and optimization of the cloud network, including monitoring, performance tuning, and incident response, with a focus on automation and reliability.

  • Security and Compliance: Collaborate with security teams to implement network security best practices, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with other technology leaders, including DevOps, Application Development, and Security, to ensure seamless integration of network solutions across the organization.

  • Innovation and Improvement: Stay ahead of industry trends and emerging technologies, continuously seeking opportunities to improve network performance, security, and cost-efficiency.

You’ll have...

Functional and Technical Knowledge:

  • GCP Networking Expertise: In-depth knowledge of Google Cloud Platform’s networking features, including but not limited to VPCs, interconnects, load balancing, Cloud VPN, Cloud DNS, Cloud CDN, and network security solutions.

  • Network Architecture: Strong experience in designing and implementing large-scale, high-performance, and secure cloud network architectures.

  • Network Operations: Expertise in network monitoring, performance tuning, incident response, and automation, with a focus on reliability and uptime.

  • Security Best Practices: Comprehensive understanding of network security principles, including firewall management, DDoS protection, and compliance requirements.

  • Cloud Integration: Experience with integrating cloud networking solutions with other cloud services, including compute, storage, and application services.

  • Leadership Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in a senior leadership role within network architecture, engineering, or operations, with a focus on cloud networking.

  • GCP Expertise: At least 5 years of hands-on experience with GCP networking, with a proven track record of designing and implementing large-scale cloud network solutions.

  • Technical Leadership: Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional teams in the design, deployment, and management of cloud network infrastructures.

  • Architectural Excellence: Proven success in architecting and scaling network solutions that deliver high performance, reliability, and security in a cloud environment.

  • Operational Mastery: Extensive experience in network operations, including monitoring, automation, incident management, and continuous improvement.

  • Certifications: GCP certifications, particularly in networking or cloud architecture, are highly desirable.
