In this position...

Ford is looking for a Core Design Release Engineer focused on O2 Sensors for all Global Programs.

What you'll do...

Core Design and Release for O2 Sensors for all Global Programs.

Manage cost, quality, and timing of the sensor in support of vehicle program timing.

Develop and manage all key reliability documentation.

Development, tracking, reporting and sign off of DV/PV plan.

Development and delivery of quality improvement plan for given component.

Development and/or update engineering specifications and system design specifications as required.

Support System, Calibration, and Launch personnel as required.

In addition…

  • Manage cost, quality, and timing of the O2 Sensors in support of vehicle program timing

  • Develop and manage all key reliability documentation including:

  • Review and sign off of supplier component design failure mode effects analysis.

  • Development, tracking, reporting and sign off of DV/PV plan.

  • Development and delivery of quality improvement plan for given Components

  • Lead component level APQP & PPAP activities.

  • Generation of 5D/8D documentation for issues affecting program delivery timing.

  • Resolution of related development and production issues.

  • Development and/or update engineering specifications and system design specifications as required.

  • Support System, Calibration, and Launch personnel as required

  • Management of Gas Aging stand for O2 sensors

  • Retrieval and analysis of durability/customer fleet parts for aging studies at the O2 supplier to develop future aging requirements for O2 sensors.

You'll have...

BS in Engineering required.

2 years of experience in automotive Mechanical or Electronics design and development required.

Some limited travel required (10-15%).

Even better, you may have...

MS in Engineering.

Experience with reliability documentation (FMEA, boundary diagrams, design verification, etc.).

Powertrain electronics experience preferred but not required.

Ability to work independently and manage complex products.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

This position is a range of salary grades SG5-SG8 .
